Server: iRO Thor **UPDATED**

I've tested my friend's +15 Crimson Bow([2]White Knight Card) against medium and large MVP mobs and it dealt like 891k FAS damage on Queen Scaraba. But for some reason, when I used my newly completed +15 Crimson Bow (1 Resentful Soldier 1 White Knight card), the damage lagged behind by a ridiculously large margin. It only did 801k FAS damage.

((A whopping 90k damage was lost wtf.)) I even made to sure to use the exact same equipment and self buffs to make sure i get the most accurate data possible.

(Just for reference, both White Knight Card and Resentful soldier offer +20% damage, and White Knight gives a bit extra of +15 base attack which shouldn't have even been that big of a disparity.)

Equipment and Buffs used:

+9 Old Bunny Camou of Caster (ME lv5, Luk 3 Str 3)
Gambler's Seal
Heart Card in Mouth
+13 Angry Nine tails WWSUIT (DEX3 EA1 EA1)

+15 1white knight 1Resentful Soldier Cbow / +15 2 White Knight Cbow
(literally the only one I changed)

+7 Prism Scarf
+9 Gray Wing boots
Old Detachments Ring
Perverse Demon mask (Faceworm card)

Buffs:

Improve Concentration
Windwalker
Falcon eyes

Also another weird thing about this one, the effect seems to differ on every MVP boss. It's as if, Resentful soldier card doesn't even work against these bosses. These are the MVPs I've tested so far: Drake, Queen Scaraba, Fenrir, Doppel, Root of Corruption, Amdarais, Samurai Spectre etc.

But works decently against Dracula, Moonlight, Eddga, Maya, Phreeoni and Lost Dragon.

(I'll continue to edit this list as I hunt more bosses for reference.)

If you want to confirm that RS works, one way to check would be to try with and without Resentful Soldier carded (not 2x White Knight vs. WK+RS, but rather WK vs. WK+RS). To Bearl's point, though, use compare.irowiki.org to see the impact on ATK that an additional 20% ranged modifier has vs. 20% size for your gear and buffs. Generally speaking, you want to stack attack modifiers of different types, because each type is multiplicative with each other. 1.2 x 1.2 = 1.44 (+20% of two different types), which is more than 1.4 (+40% of a single type). Ultimately, though, your setup (gear + buffs) determines which modifier would result in more damage.

Using an overly simplified example:

  • Base damage: 100K
  • Existing ranged modifier: +100% = +100K damage (for total damage 200K)
    • Add another 20% ranged from RS = +20K damage
    • Impact: 10% increase in damage (200K -> 220K)
  • Replace +20% ranged with +20% size:
    • Adds 20K damage on its own -> 120K
    • Then multiply with +100% ranged modifier (100K x 1.2 x 2), so total damage is 240K
    • Impact: +20% size has a 20% increase in damage (compared to the 10% increase of +20% ranged)

Note: While ranged modifier gets applied to all parts of the ATK formula, size modifier only gets applied to WeaponATK and ExtraATK. This means that +20% size would increase ATK by less than 20% (and therefore total damage by less than 20%), but for illustration I used the full 20% above.

Lol I used to have a non-Steam ID username years ago (before I went on a 5-year hiatus); it's attached to an E-mail address that I don't remember. I had everything (E-mail addresses and account names) stored on a drive, but I formatted that drive during the hiatus and didn't back up that file or anything game-related.
