There is no official support for any OS other than Windows, and in other OSes EAC will block any VM or emulation that otherwise would allow the client to work. This may change in the future as recently Epic Games was able to get EAC working for Linux so if the Studio in Korea wanted to they would have the option to add support for some Linux based OSes.
That said, there has been no announcement or any other indication that adding support other OS is in the works, so it would be a very large surprise were this to happen.
As for Campitor he has moved on from his role on RO1 and now the main producer role has been taken up by Magus.
