I've been playing ranger since I joined this server years ago, just here to share my build along with some information.

 

My stats investment allow me to play these three skills playstyle. I will be showing my setup, you do not need to follow it exactly as it is, I will be listing down options so that you can build your ranger according your budget and playstyles.

 

Do let me know if there's any mistakes or anything I missed, or any mis-tagged link.

Arrow Storm

Things to consider:

• 3.2s cool down
• Full Variable Cast time [(DEX*2) + INT = 530 for instant cast]   *its a min-max path for you*
• Buff to help instant cast: VIP Buff, Miracle Buff(does not stack with VIP buff), Blessing Scroll, Siroma IceTea
• Skills from Ranger : Owl's Eye, Improved Concentration, Falcon Eyes, Trap Research

Skills Update from Oct 13th,2022

• 0.3 Fixed Cast Time added
• Bonus Damage during Fear Breeze
• AOE reduced to 9x9
• Arrow consumption reduced from 10 to 5

My Setup

Basically Ignis Cap Type K and Virtual Bow are bounded, for the cooldown reduction. I'm using Wolf Officer Hat for permanent No Limit buff instead of Prism Ranger Scarf, as No Limit has been extended to 150s.

 

With 185 level and the the help from Erymanthian Skin(DEX+30) and Sniping Shoes(All Stats +10), instant casting should be easy. The only concerning factor is on the newly added 0.3s Fixed Cast Time, which you can use either Minor Casting Stone(Garment) , Casting Stone(Garment) or swapping out Sniping Shoes for Temporal DEX Shoes.

 

Prism Ranger Scarf will be a good and budget friendly alternatives for Erymanthian Skin, as the price difference between these 2 pieces are huge.

 

I'm using Illusion Armor with Restless Dead card as a general armor, as you don't really need the best damage armor for most of the content.

 

 

 

Focused Arrow Strike

Things to consider:

• 0.5s After Cast Delay (72% ACD reduction for 7cast/s)
• 193 ASPD for 7cast/s
• 0.5s Fixed Cast Time + 0.5s Variable Cast Time
• Can inflict critical damage, the skills have built in CRIT
• Instant Casting will make a difference on your spams

Skills Update from Oct 13th,2022

• AOE adjusted to 5x5, similar to fireball 
• Improved Damage
• Cast Range improved to 11cells
• Damage formula fixed

My Setup

With the huge amount of ACD reduction from Wolf Officer Hat and Sniping Shoes, I'm no longer bounded to Reload Shadow Set. Instead, I'm using Critical Shadow Armor(CRIT+10) and Blitz Shadow Shield(CRIT & ASPD) to maintain my CRIT and ASPD needed.

 

For FCT reduction, I'm using Casting Stone(Garment),The damage difference between Wolf Officer Hat and +15 General Helm/Old Camouflage Bunny Hood is not that huge, but I prefer the stats from Wolf Officer Hat.  

 

I'm using Illusion Armor with Restless Dead card as a general armor. With the improved damaged and fixed damage formula, I rarely find the need for dresses, even with the strengthen MVP. 

 

 

 

 

Aim Bolt

Things to consider:

• 1s Fixed Cast Time + 2s Variable Cast Time [(DEX*2) + INT = 530 for instant cast] 
• 1s After Cast Delay
• 1s Cooldown
• Buff to help instant cast: VIP Buff, Miracle Buff(does not stack with VIP buff), Blessing Scroll, Siroma IceTea
• Skills from Ranger : Owl's Eye, Improved Concentration, Falcon Eyes, Trap Research

• Bonus Damage during Fear Breeze
• Skills hits 5 times regardless of size

No plan on investing on Aimed Bolt yet, but this is my current scuffed set up. Still waiting for Temporal Circlet(Ranger) or Racing Cap before I jump into this build.

 

Ring of Ceyneian should be the BIS accessories for Aim Bolt, but I cannot get my hands on it, hence this is what I will be using.

150s No Limit cool down reduction that unlock the potential for permanent No Limit
20% boss damage reduction are welcome for a glass cannon class 

 

Ignis Cap Type K

The only option for Arrow Storm build, mainly for -2.5s cd when paired with Virtual Bow-OS

 

Old Camouflage Bunny Hood

+70 CRIT and 70% critical damage with Old Detachment Ring

Can be enchanted with Magic Essence that gives FCT reduction for Focused Arrow Strike or Aimed Bolt, or Acute for CRIT + Critical Damage%

General Helm

Require +15 for 0.5s FCT reduction

Give decent attack, attack speed and critical damage %
This can be expensive and rare

 

**Description in iRO stated 10% global delay of skill reduction, but it's actually 10% ASPD**

Best in slot for FAS, stats says everything.

Can be enchant with Great Hero Bravery/Wisdom, wouldn't recommend it as its rare and expensive

Virtual Bow-OS

A very good general and budget bow for both FAS and AS

Combo with Ignis Cap Type K for Arrow Storm CD reduction

Recommended enchant are ATK% + Size%, it's very hard to get the perfect enchant, proceed with a budget in mind

Long Range% enchant is not recommended as it's too easy to access to permanent No Limit buff

Awakened Scarlet Dragon Leather Bow

Best in slot for Aimed Bolt, cooldown reduction with good amount of ACD reduction.

Can be enchant with Great Hero Bravery/Wisdom, wouldn't recommend it as its rare and expensive

16% ACD at refine +12, damage slightly lower compare to Virtual Bow, can also unlock Aim Bolt build in the future

Usable at level 100, which is why this is still included here despite the awakened series are out

Everything is better than Prism Ranger Scarf, except for the 75% element resistance, of course it's a lot more expensive in comparison

180s No Limit cooldown reduction, 75% element resist(you can overwrite your damage element with converter), 30% range attack

0.2s AS cooldown reduction makes you able to cast 2 AS/s

BIS in terms of damage, for FAS

 

Temporal Agi Manteau

Can be enchanted with -15% ACD

Since AS is a bit spammable now, (as spammable as MA cmiiw), what else is the advantage of going hybrid over just pure AS? Cause the stat seems to be spread a bit thin. 

By pure AS I'm thinking of 120 int 120 dex for easier insta-cast which still allows enough LUK for PDM def byass.

FAS is a crit damage skill which means it can bypass flee and has higher potential damage and DPS than AS. Its possible to do 5~7 FAS per second.

So which one do you not recommend? OCBH or general helm?

Also, with those stats can you reach insta-cast with just self-buffs + blessing (from jupiter) + VIP buff?

I compared the damage using (+15 GH, Ring of Jupiter) and (Old Camo Bunny Hood, Old Detachment Ring) with the rest of the equipment same, +15 GH deal around 2k~4k more(100k~200k in NoLimit). 

I don't recommend +15 GH for a few reason:

• rare and expensive, if you can find and afford one, sure
• there's better equipment and set up in the future, but this depends on the update speed from WP
• can suffer from insufficient CRIT, solution for this will be enchant from both equipment and shadow

 

As for instant casting, I am not able to instant cast FAS with the gears I used and just VIP buff and Blessing from ROJ, but its possible with other buff and enchant, or on the higher end, +10 Almighty accessories set.
Fortunately, you don't really need instant cast for most of the content of the current IRO, removing just the 0.5s FCT is more than enough as ranger naturally have high dex, along with skills like Improved Concentration and Falcon Eyes.

I will update the post with the recent 185 level cap increase, along with the possible Aim Bolt build once I'm ready to word it.

instant casting is a min-max path for you, I cannot decide how you build your ranger and what you willing to consume/sacrifice.

I mentioned on the comment that,  I'm not able to instant cast with my stats, however I also did mentioned that its possible with the right equipment, enchant and buff. 

You don't need to instant cast FAS all the time, some easy consumable like Siroma Ice Tea that gives +20 DEX for 5mins is sufficient, and of course there's +10 Almighty Accessories Set out there.

I personally don't really care about instant casting FAS because there's no contents/instance that I'm grinding needed it. I can only think of COP, or maybe competing field MVP, that you might want a better cast and spam.

Is it worth going from (or paying more for) +12 to +14 ignis vbow? Because the 7% (per 2 refine) from ignis + v.bow combo is negligible isnt it? i.e. +14 is only for the refinement bonus

From what I know, Ignis cap + Virtual bow is the only set that reduce AS cd for 2.5s. There will be better damage set up in the future updates, but they only reduce the cooldown for 1.5s, instead of 2.5. 

Which setup will end up having better DPS? I's not so sure, but judging from the cooldown reduction, I believe the current Ignis Cap setup will be the best all along.

So, if you can afford +14 on the headgear and weapon, i would say go for it, but it wont be so much diff compare to +12, its your choice.
