Quantity - The sheer influx of new gears (and shadow/costume/etc enchant systems) are overwhelming, even to a long-time player
As a player willing to spend a moderate amount of money on the game, I'm beginning to burn out HARD with what we've got going on now. It's beyond overwhelming, the torrent of OCP and Kachua gears, piles of shadow gears, costumes and enchant stones, high upgrade requirements, Ancient Hero weapons from CoP, and multiple enchant systems all bundled up in a swirling vortex constantly changing and often expensive path for those who have more than a single main character. Do I need all this fancy gear? Technically no, but when did we stop looking at the regular casual players instead of the few biggest high-rollers with the deepest wallets. If this is an attempt to make the future content accessible for all classes and everyone, why is it gated behind so much real money?
Fairness - Drop rates and Value on most recent boxes are declining sharply
I started playing again around OCP8 or so, when they were actually fun to open, I primarily used the Subscription+KP option (rest in peace) for 4 accounts, then spent all the points having fun opening boxes. While not every gear you got was super amazing, at least you felt like you got something for your troubles or could Boxter trade couple fails in to get another crack at it, there is zero fail-safes currently, the best you can do is throw anything that isn't antiquated gear into older boxters and hope for something that isn't devalued.
Let's take Devil's Ring (or Sixth Sense) from this box as example. Did the person who assigns the rarity think "Yeah, everyone's buying this box for this Pazuzu item, and with Shield Ring before, I guess all class-specific rings are overpowered, why don't we make it even harder to get, especially when they need 2 copies? Sounds like a lot of sales to me!" So as a player that doesn't have billions in game and can't spend well over a thousand dollars a month on a video game, how do I get this item? I don't? Great. Sounds a lot like when Devil's Hand came out and we all complained how predatory the box was. Every time there's a box/key like the current one where the rates just aren't worth it, few copies of the item end up being opened, thus making them super expensive to everyone who didn't get one, and no Remix boxes to help alleviate that.
Not all OCP boxes are created equal. I've scrounged through box lists many a time and could probably build a pretty fair one with balance both sides, but I feel like we had a pretty good thing with the Yggdrasil Ticket system, not every guaranteed rare was great, but lately quality of semi-rares and lower has dropped sharply. I'm not asking for the new rings at 5% rates or even the really good old rares in lower rates that OCP31 had, but there's a plethora of gears that could use re-released that isn't from 2014.
Multiple concurrent sources - Why have OCP, Costume Eggs, and a Kachua Key going at the same time?
I'll focus on Kachua Keys, which feels like the odd one here, or perhaps quite honestly I've always hated the system. I assume the it was implemented as an attempt to reward normal cash shop purchases, but since the same 4 choices they are included with are never changed, unless it's during an ore event, it's usually more along the lines of "Buy 11 keys and get 200 Infinity Potions for free!" instead of the other way around. Which makes it essentially a concurrently running 2nd lucky box. A huge percentage of the rewards would be best served bought directly from the cash shop itself. Useless and meager amounts of consumables with a small chance of consumable S-rares and stack of shadow gear and the occasional standard gear inbetween. If I had to place on a scale of 10 how I generally feel after opening a stack of keys, out of I'd probably place it at a solid 2.
Conclusion - Why can we not go back Yggdrasil Tickets again?
This was a good system, you had guarantees, you had extra bonuses for restarting the ladder, you may not always get the specific one you wanted, but at least you probably got something good enough to trade to someone else, and if not you got enough to sell to people looking to boxter anything else or do it yourself. Can't we just bring it back? I mean I'd settle for re-evaluating this 1% or less madness, but this was a better time and far fairer to everyone else than what we've got now.
Bonus - Costume enchants
I know it's basically in here as a way to find a use for unwanted costumes, but when you think about it, it's just as unfair as the rest, you pay 300 KP for a costume, trade it in for a low chance of a useful stone, especially with the new boxes having fancier new ones at lower rates. If you get the one you want, you still then have to deal with the RNG chance of it failing and losing the stone altogether.
