Constant crash to desktop

Coming back for the 185 patch but this game doesn't work. Constant crash to desktop every 5-10 minutes. I tried playing the game from both steam and the client downloaded from the web, same issue.

No apps running in background. Fresh GPU drivers. Same issue.

 

Last I played, there was no EAC and I think this must be it. 

 

RIP this game.

Windows 10. Seems to run a bit longer on lower resolution, but once I switch to 1080p it crashes like hell.

Im having this same problem too, it happens most often in towns but sometimes when Im leveling. Windows 11 and pretty beefy computer, RTX 3080... not a good experience :(

Experiencing the same issue (as are many others, going by the chatter on Discord). Windows 11 / 11900k / RTX 3080 TI.  Ragexe.exe crashes to desktop within seconds to minutes of launching.

I might not remember correctly, but have you tried right-clicking the exe file; properties-->compatibility-->(enable the check box for "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select "Windows 7") ?

 

Also, note, since the game was written a long time ago, it only supports specific resolutions (which you can search up on google).

Has anyone find a solution to this issue? - I've tried different solutions like running it on compatibility mode, changing screen resolution on settings, uninstalling reinstalling.

Same experience here tho I'm still at windows 10.

 

1) After 185 patch, the client sometimes failed to proceed to open or when the client opens it "not responding" for a bit then closes itself.

2) Lots of DC in Prontera map, simple walking the game freezes then DC, I can't even vend in longer times.

3) On the other maps when the game freezes a little bit the client closes itself, seems like unstable at something.

On my case this is what support shared with me, it may work for you:

 

If your client is crashing without any message, this may caused by an EAC issue.
Please kindly try to follow these steps for possible solution.
  1. Browse to your Ragnarok folder, find and rename dbghelp.dll to dbghelp.dll_old.
  2. Adjust the graphic setting accordingly in Setup.exe
  3. Ensure your Graphic Drivers are up to date preferably through their manufacturer website or applications, such as Nvidia Geforce Experience.
  4. If you use Nvidia GeForce Experience, disable ANSEL capture tool through disabling Nvidia in-game Overlay. Overlay and/or video capture apps may trigger EAC error.
  5. If your game client is installed under Program Files (x86) or Program Files then try to move the folder anywhere else outside said folders.
  6. Make sure you have whitelisted the program from active scan and run it under administrator privilege.
