[Quest Guide] - 2022 Sweets Festival (02/08/2022~TBD)

lIGnwmi.png

Festival Commissioner Chocolate has come to Rune Midgarts to sell chocolate during the Sweets Festival, but the Sweets Drops villains robbed the cocoa beans from warehouses and ran away!

*NPCs that sell sweet foods with nice effects have been added to some cities.
*Sweet Drops has been added to maps – they are looters, so take care not to lose your loots to them.
*Collect all Stolen Cocoa Beans you find in any maps by killing Sweet Drops to trade for Sweets Festival Coins!

[Quest Monsters]

-Sweet Drops

5iPsvEO.png

 -Monster Info:

 gYWdDkG.png

 -Takes 1 damage per hit;
-Can be Stolen using Thief [Steal] skill;
-The Doram skill [Scratch] can be used to leave sweet drops with 1 health;
-Burning status kills it with 1 hit, but may cause the monster not to drop any loot;
- It loots items dropped on the floor – it stores the first 10 items it collects and makes the 11th and following items disappear upon passing over them. So you can only retrieve the first 10 items looted by this monster by killing it. Everything else the monster loots vanishes and cannot be retrieved.
-It can collect stacked items, but it doesn’t stack items, so if it loots 1 jellopy and 1 jellopy, it’s considered 2 different looted items. When killed, it will drop 2 separated jellopies. But if it collects 2 jellopies already stacked, it will be considered 1 item looted and he will drop a stack of 2 jellopies when killed.

-Known Drops:

- (1~2) Stolen Cocoa Beans – etc item (common drop → usually drops 2, sometimes 1);
-Weight 0
-Can be stored, traded, mailed.

 Pnw07jG.png

[Event Coin]

Ot093D8.png
-Etc. item
-Weight 0
-Can be stored, traded, mailed.
-Every 10 of those can be exchanged for a random item, which can be costumes.

[Event NPCs]

<Sweets Festival Member> Arles

UDCKqai.png   0FO3cJX.png

Location: Prontera 163, 100 (/navi prontera 163/100)

Arles will take 30 Sweets Coins to give you one random sweet consumable food with your name engraved.

Despite what the NPC dialog suggests, the reward cannot be dropped, traded, stored or mailed. It can be consumed, though. Seems to recover same amount of HP/SP as the non-engraved corresponding consumable.

THIS EXCHANGE IS NOT RECOMMENDED – I personally consider it a waste of Sweets Festival Coins, since you can’t even send it to a friend.

Example of name engraved item:

  [Sweets Shops]

Sweets Festival Shops sells event foods that heal and give effects or cure statuses – it doesn’t require Sweets Festival Coins or to complete any quest, just zeny! On their first window there is a blue link that shows you the item description when clicked. Any of them can also do a “Sweets Draw”, in which they take 10 Sweets Festival Coins and reward you with a random event food OR an event costume.

*There is no warning on food items stating its effects will depart after event is over. So it might be a good idea to stack some for further use.

[Event Pet]

Prerequisite: Having a loyal Drops pet, 500 Sweets Festival Coin, 50 Candy, 50 Candy Cane and 1 Drops Card.
Reward: Sweet Drops Egg.

The new pet is actually an evolution form of Drops. Thus, it requires the Drops pet to be loyal in order to proceed with evolution.

1. While having a loyal drops hatched with you, right click him and chose the first option “Check the pet status”, or use alt+J, to open Pet Info Window. Open the Command list by clicking the small arrow down right of “Command” text. You will notice there are 2 “evolution” options. The first one is to evolve it to Eggring, the common evolution of Drops. The second one is to evolve it to Sweet Drops.

2. With 500 Sweets Festival Coin, 50 Candy, 50 Candy Cane and 1 Drops Card in your inventory and your loyal Drops pet hatched in the field, choose the second evolution option, check if the required materials match, and press “Confirm”. Your drops pet will disappear and a Sweet Drops Egg will appear in your inventory. You can now hatch your Sweet Drops.

Q0j6CZA.png    lsrtL36.png

-Sweet Drops will increase experience given from monsters by 3% when loyal, and will additionally increase experience gained from monster by another 3% when used with Costume Sweet Bonbon, rewarded after completing the main quests of Sweets Festival (see below).
-Sweet Drops feeds on Candy, which cannot be purchased from NPCs, just dropped by monsters;
-Sweet Drops performances are bugged, it just vanishes and reappears in a fraction of seconds when you try it;
-It cannot equip Poring Pet Backpack;
-Presuming it gains 1 intimacy per feed as the other evolved pets, it is expected you will need about 511 to 810 Candy to make it loyal, depending on the random intimacy it gains on the first feed after hatched (there is no way to find out his initial intimacy);

Tips:

  • Best way of farming Candy and Candy Cane is to kill mobs using Witch’s Pumpkin Hat (OCP item) with Gozarian Mask;

  • Alternatively, one can use Christmas Tree Hat, rewarded in the past during a Christmas event and which is cheaper than Witch’s Pumpkin Hat. Christmas Tree Hat gives a chance, even at +0 but better with refines, to drop Cookie Bag on every kill. This consumable item rewards the player with some candies when opened, with a chance of 10% to get Candy and 10% to get Candy Cane.

  • Best map to farm Candy is Lutie Field, killing Marin, at 3,51% drop chance (/navi xmas_fild01 78/68) → talk to Mr. Claus at Al De Baran 223/222 and select the second option “Move to ‘Lutie’” and you will be there (but I recommend the map below, because you can farm Candy Canes there too)

  • Best map to farm Candy Cane is Toy Factory 1st Floor, killing Cookie (green), at 1,51% drop chance, which also drops Candy at 3,21% chance (/navi xmas_dun01 205/16) → talk to Mr. Claus at Al De Baran 223/222 and select the second option “Move to ‘Lutie’” → move to the map north and you will be at Lutie city → move another map north and you’ll arrive at Toy Factory 1st Floor → in here there are also some Marin and very few Myst Cases, both which drop Candy, but not Candy Cane → it is advised to bring teleport items such as Beelzebub wing, Accessory with Creamy Card or fly wings, because this map is like a maze, hard to walk around.
    • Attention: Cookie (Red) doesn’t drop Candy or Candy Cane;

  • *It is a good opportunity to sell your Drops Eggs!

  • *If you need a Drops card to evolve it or want to try and capture a Drops (the item to capture it is Orange Juice, which is dropped by Drops itself), best map for it is north of Morroc, which is the most populated by Drops: /navi moc_fild07 197/37 → the map is big, so it is advised to bring Beelzebub wing or fly wings or Accessory with Creamy Card for teleport.

  • *Each feed increases Drops intimacy by 40, so it takes 20~30 feeds with Yellow Herb to make it loyal. He can be fed while in Neutral hunger to speed this process.

[Quest] Sweets Drops!

Prerequisite: base level 30+
Reward: 20 Sweets Festival Coin, 1 random event food (Mont Blanc, Fruit Parfait, Sweet Crepe, Strawberry Cream Cupcake or Chewy Macaron) & access to "Stolen Cacao Beans" quest

1. Go to Prontera 163/98 (/navi prontera 163/98), near the Kafra at the center bottom part of the map, and speak to <Sweets Festival> Festival Chairman Choco, a girl with pink hair, named Chocolate.

m3Bei2Q.png  ogXdw3V.png

2. Choose always the first option to proceed. You will receive "Sweet Drops!" quest in your quest list (alt+u)

If you have done this quest in previous years, “Chocolate Delivery Complete Quest” will be deleted from your quest list (alt+u)

She will ask you to kill 10 "Sweet Drops". Kill Sweet Drops in any map.

Collect all Stolen Cocoa Beans dropped for future use. You’ll need at least 20.

*Notice that new quests aren’t placed at the end of alt+u window, and when you click the quest notification button at the bottom right corner of your screen it doesn’t take you to the quest you just acquired, so that may make finding the quest on your alt+u troublesome. I suggest unchecking all quest you are not doing.

*Suggested places to kill Sweet Drops:

  • Brifrost Tower – use Dungeon Teleporter in Eden Group (/navi moc_para01 13/28) while in a party to get there (no need to be VIP, but non-VIP might need to pay some zeny once to reserve teleport, then can freely use the teleport with no further tax) – smallest map to hunt quest monsters, but there are high level monsters here, come if you are well geared and can deal high damage;

NnI6bhg.png

  • Payon Dungeon – use Dungeon Teleporter in Eden Group (/navi moc_para01 13/28) while in a party to get there - small easy dungeon to farm quest monsters, with low level mobs, some aggressive. Should be fine for lvl 30+ players, which is quest requirement. Just take care not to lose Stolen Cocoa Beans for Poporings or Sweets Drops that gathered too many other items → if they eat 10 items, all other items they pass over will vanish and you won’t be able to get them back by killing the looter monster;

  • *I suggest you to use Beelzebub wings, that can be bought at Merry Badger (/navi moc_para01 13/22) at Eden Group for 5 Eden Merit Badges. It lasts for 1 week, has weight 0, can be stored at kafra (account bound) and works as an infinite Fly Wing for that time.

HvAHmOy.png

*The quest in quest window (alt+u) will have Chocolate name in blue, it’s a link to navigation system. If you click it, the navigation system will guide you back to Chocolate.

3. When you come back to her having killed 10 Sweet Drops, she will reward you with 20 Sweets Festival Coin and 1 random Sweets Festival food, which can be: Mont Blanc, Fruit Parfait, Sweet Crepe, Strawberry Cream Cupcake or Chewy Macaron.

“Sweets Drops!” quest will be deleted from your quest list (alt+u), and “Stolen Cacao Beans” quest will be added.

*If you collected 20 Stolen Cocoa Beans as you killed the Sweet Drops, just talk to the NPC again to complete the next quest.

“Stolen Cacao Beans” quest will be deleted from your quest window (alt+u)

Quest dialog with 20+ Stolen Cocoa Beans:

Spoiler

To start the next quest, you need to talk to Chocolate again.

[Quest] Delivery and Collection

Prerequisite: complete "Stolen Cacao Beans" quest; and one of each Sweets Festival foods (obtained during the quest): 1 Mont Blanc, 1 Fruit Parfait, 1 Sweet Crepe, 1 Strawberry Cream Cupcake and 1 Chewy Macaron (all consumed).
Reward: 40 Sweets Festival Coin, Costume Sweet Bonbon, access to daily repeatable quests for more Sweets Festival Coins & NPC Chocolate will then exchange every 20 Stolen Cocoa Beans for 10 Sweets Festival Coins.

1. Talk to Chocolate again [<Sweets Festival> Festival Chairman Choco at Prontera 163/98 (/navi prontera 163/98)]. Choose always the first option to proceed.

She will give you 5 Chocolate Products to deliver to 5 different NPCs. They are character bound and have 0 weight. You’ll also receive 5 quests named:

  • Delivery and Collection-Prontera (Mimi);
  • Delivery and Collection-Geffen (Ed);
  • Delivery and Collection-Payon (Allen);
  • Delivery and Collection-Aldebaran (Hans);
  • Delivery and Collection-Morocc (Amandio);

Each of those quests have a blue NPC name on quest list (alt+u) that works as a link to navigation system, to guide you to the NPCs.

YtKlU1o.png

-Etc. item
-0 weight
-Character Bound

Quest dialog

Spoiler

2. You have to deliver one Chocolate Product to each of those NPCs (position below).

It is impossible to deliver more than one to each NPC, so don’t worry about bugs, if in doubt just try to deliver again to the NPC. Upon delivery, the corresponding “Delivery and Collection” quest will be deleted.

They can be delivered to the NPCs in any order by selecting always the first option. Their locations are:

  • <Sweets Crepe> Clerk Mimi at Prontera 113, 103 (/navi prontera 114/103) – rewards Sweet Crepe;

  • <Sweets Parfait> Hans at Al De Baran 169, 183 (/navi aldebaran 169/183) – rewards Fruit Parfait;

  • <Sweets Cupcake> ed at Geffen 59, 165 (/navi geffen 59/165) – rewards Strawberry Cream Cupcake;

  • <Sweets Macaron> Amandio at Morroc 170, 75 (/navi morocc 170/75) – rewards Chewy Macaron;

  • <Sweets Montbanc> Allen at Payon 160, 126 (/navi payon 160/126) – rewads Mont Blanc;

Quest dialog in this part of the quest:

Spoiler

Despite what the quest dialog might suggest, you don’t need this quest to buy the Festival foods.

Each NPC will reward you with one of the Sweets Festival food they sell. So in the end you will have one of each. Keep these foods because they will be consumed in the next step. Otherwise you are gonna have to buy those you consumed/sold to proceed.

*Suggested order of deliveries:

  • VIPs: Prontera > Al De Baran > Geffen > Morroc > Payon → you can use kafras from those cities to go between each of them in this order.
  • Non-VIPs: Prontera > Al De Baran > Geffen > Prontera > Morroc > Prontera > Payon → you can warp to all the quest involved cities from Prontera, but if you go to Al De Baran, the kafra there can only teleport you to Geffen, so use that to your advantage. Kafras from other mentioned cities warp you back to Prontera, so it’s cheaper to save in Prontera and use butterfly wing once done in other cities. Save in Kafras to the east or west of Prontera, because if saved at middle kafra, butterfly wing will take you to a random position in Prontera.

3. After delivering each Chocolate Product, the corresponding “Delivery and Collection” quest will be deleted from quest window (alt+u), so you can check there which ones are still pending.

When all Chocolate Products are delivered, you will receive the quest “Chocolate Delivery Completed!” with Chocolate navigation link, which you can click to navigate to her at Prontera.

Talk to Chocolate again and you will receive 10 Sweets Festival Coins, “Chocolate Delivery Completed!” quest will be deleted and 5 new quests will be added to your quest list (alt+u), each to deliver a specific event food (obtained in previous step) to a specific child near Prontera Church:

  • Special Order To Share Sweetness 1 (Cherry)
  • Special Order To Share Sweetness 2 (Blossom)
  • Special Order To Share Sweetness 3 (Walnuts)
  • Special Order To Share Sweetness 4 (Cinnamon)
  • Special Order To Share Sweetness 5 (Hazel)

Each of those quests have a navigation link to a child. You can click the name of the child to navigate to them. It will also specify the food that child will take.

4. You can talk to any children in any order. Just press enter to proceed. Each of them will consume one specific food among those you received previously. Upon delivering the food, the corresponding “Special Order To Share Sweetness” quest will be deleted from your quest window (alt+u). Their locations are:

  • Cherry – Prontera 225, 346 (/navi prontera 225/346) – takes Sweet Crepe (Special Order To Share Sweetness 1);

FvFBoK1.png   vPAzezJ.png

  • Blossom – Prontera 225, 322 (/navi prontera 225/322) – takes Strawberry Cream Cupcake (Special Order To Share Sweetness 2);

Now you can do daily repeatable quests to acquire more Sweets Festival Coins and Chocolate will now exchange every 20 Stolen Cocoa Beans for 10 Sweets Festival Coins.

*At the end of all those non-repeatable quests you’ll have collected 90 Sweets Festival Coins. Daily quests will reward a character 40 Sweets Festival Coins.

[Exchanging Stolen Cocoa Beans for Sweets Festival Coin] - Repeatable

Prerequisite: complete "Delivery and Collection" quest and bulks of 20 Stolen Cocoa Bean.
Reward: 10 Sweets Festival Coin for every 20 Stolen Cocoa Beans delivered.

1. Talk to Chocolate again [<Sweets Festival> Festival Chairman Choco at Prontera 163/98 (/navi prontera 163/98)] with 20+ Stolen Cocoa Beans on your inventory.

2. Select the first option “Stolen cacao beans”, and then the first option again “Exchange All”. For every bulk of 20 Stolen Cocoa Beans consumed, 10 Sweets Festival Coins will be rewarded. The NPC will take all bulks of 20 Stolen Cocoa Beans at once in your inventory, there is no limit.

Eg.: if you have 60 Stolen Cocoa Beans, they will all be consumed and you will be rewarded 30 Sweets Festival Coins. But, if you have 73 Stolen Cocoa Beans, 60 of them will be consumed, you will be rewarded 30 Sweets Festival Coins and will keep the remaining 13 Stolen Cocoa Beans.

Be careful! There is a daily quest that requires 20 Stolen Cocoa Beans to be started, take care not to lose all your Stolen Cocoa Beans on this exchange instead of selecting the daily quest.

[Daily Quest] Ready for today’s exciting festivities

Prerequisite: 20 Stolen Cocoa Beans (consumed) and complete "Delivery and Collection" quest.
Reward: 30 Sweets Festival Coin and a random event food: 1 Mont Blanc, 1 Fruit Parfait, 1 Sweet Crepe, 1 Strawberry Cream Cupcake OR 1 Chewy Macaron.
Cooldown: resets at 4AM PST.

1. Talk to Chocolate again [<Sweets Festival> Festival Chairman Choco at Prontera 163/98 (/navi prontera 163/98)] with 20+ Stolen Cocoa Beans in your inventory.

Select the second option: “Prepare for an exciting festival today!”, and then “I will”. The 20 Stolen Cocoa Beans will be taken and you will receive 5 Chocolate Products to deliver to the event sweets shops.

Tip: get both daily quests at once. Killing 10 Sweets Drops should be enough to collect 20 Stolen Cocoa Beans, so you will always have the 20 Stolen Cocoa Beans required to start over on the following day.

*From the second time you take this daily quest on, you will need to interact with Chocolate and select “Prepare for an exciting festival today!” twice: first to delete the cooldown quest from your alt+u window, and secondly to get the daily quest.

-0 weight;
-Character Bound (cannot be dropped, mailed, stored);

2. You’ll receive “Ready for today’s exciting festivities” quest in your quest window (alt+u), which has the navigation link to all the NPCs you gotta deliver the Chocolate Products to. Each of them will only take 1 of those by selecting the first option on their dialog, no worries about bugs.

Differently from what happened in the main quest, you will not be rewarded food items when delivering Chocolate Products to the stores.

*Non-VIP can warp to all of those places from Prontera, but if you go to Al De Baran, the kafra there can only teleport you to Geffen, so use that to your advantage. *If you talk to Chocolate before delivering all chocolate, she will list the stores you already delivered the chocolate to, and those you still need to visit.

3. Once deliveries are competed, go back to Chocolate and select the second option “Prepare for an exciting festival today!”. She will reward you with 30 Sweets Festival Coins and 1 random event food: 1 Mont Blanc, 1 Fruit Parfait, 1 Sweet Crepe, 1 Strawberry Cream Cupcake OR 1 Chewy Macaron.

All “Delivery Confirmation” quests will be deleted from your quest window (alt+u), along with “Ready for today’s exciting festivities” quest. You’ll receive “Ready for Today’s Exciting Festival - Wait” quest, which will show that this quest’s cooldown resets at 4AM PST.

You can reset the quest cooldown by spending 1 Nyangvine (Not Recommended). For that, talk to Chocolate again, and select the 2rd option once more. Then, select “Retry the quest immediately.”.

Nyangvine is another name for Kitcoin, which can be bought at Cash Shop, at “New” tab, 3rd page. Currently it seems not to be possible to buy a single coin, only a box named “Kitcoin Purse”, which contains 14 Nyangvines and costs 350C (350 Kafra Points). According to the item description, the box cannot be traded with other accounts.

[Daily Quest] Sweets Drops Punishment!

Prerequisite: complete "Delivery and Collection" quest.
Reward: 10 Sweets Festival Coin.
Cooldown: resets at 4AM PST.

1. Talk to Chocolate again [<Sweets Festival> Festival Chairman Choco at Prontera 163/98 (/navi prontera 163/98)] and select the 3rd option: “Sweets Drops Punishment”.

She will ask you to hunt 10 Sweet Drops. You will receive “Sweets Drops Retribution Today!” quest in your quest window (alt+u) to keep track of the kills. There is also a navigation link to Chocolate there if needed.

*From the second time you take this daily quest on, you will need to interact with Chocolate and select “Sweet Drops Punishment” twice: first to delete the cooldown quest from your alt+u window, and secondly to get the daily quest.

*Collect all Stolen Cocoa Beans while killing the Sweet Drops to exchange them for more Sweets Festival Coins or to do “Prepare for an exciting festival today!” daily quest.

2. After killing the Sweet Drops, go back to Chocolate and select the 3rd option again: “Sweets Drops Punishment” to receive 10 Sweets Festival Coin. The quest “Sweets Drops Retribution Today!” will be deleted and you will receive the quest “Sweets Drops Retribution-Waiting” to inform the cooldown of the quest, which resets at 4AM PST.

*Suggested places to kill Sweet Drops:

  • Brifrost Tower – use Dungeon Teleporter in Eden Group (/navi moc_para01 13/28) while in a party to get there (no need to be VIP, but non-VIP might need to pay some zeny once to reserve teleport, then they can freely teleport with no further tax) – smallest map to hunt quest monsters, but there are high level monsters here, come if you are well geared and can deal high damage;

  • Payon Dungeon – use Dungeon Teleporter in Eden Group (/navi moc_para01 13/28) while in a party to get there – small easy dungeon to farm quest monsters, with low level mobs, some aggressive. Should be fine for lvl 30+ players, which is quest requirement. Just take care not to lose Stolen Cocoa Beans for Poporings or Sweets Drops that gathered too many other items → if they eat 10 items, all other items they pass over will vanish and you won’t be able to get them back by killing the looter monster;

I got this costume during this year's event, its screenshot is in my guide. Unfortunatelly, there is no mention to Concentration in its in-game description. I checked my alt+s while equiping it and I dont have access to the Improve Concentration skill. I tried killing some mobs equiped with it using magical and physical dmg, and it didnt trigger any skill.

I think it was written there by mistake, the Mont Blanc cake is the item that casts Improve Concentration Lv5, not the costume.
