High I am new to ragnarok I would like to ask what would be a good starting gear for a rune knight.

I am currently using eden gear and rental weapon to while still at LK. be changing to RK soon. 
Plan to be hundred spear or inigiton break build. whats a good starting gear once I reach RK?

i'll go with some of those more affordable gears 

upper : catherina von blood / officer hat
middle : sunglasses [1]
lower : mobscarf
armor : mighty black thread armor / evil dragon armor
weapon : +10~+15 crimson 2hand sword, 2x Sword guardian
garment : commander manteau
shoe : Peep toe Sandals
accessories : 2x Toy Ring

blue are the stuff that you'll want
orange are the stuff that is cheap and good 
black are the stuff you'll want to get if you have excess zeny

most of these aren't the BIS, but they are of high utility & affordable

there's at least 5 types of RK
 

1. Dragon Breath
2. Crush Strike
3. Ignition Break 
4. Sonic Wave
5. Hundred Spears

Should go & youtube search for the kind that you want to play.
then checkout their gears requirement.

list down the gears , go to prontera & find out the cost. 

 

for starters, i would say. could try autocast sonic wave,

& stay away from ignition break / hundred spears, imo those are <snip>

Is IB/Crit a viable build?

Also whats a good weapon for it? Since i dont have lindy hop nor does it wanna drop lmao

For levelling no. When we get the IB shadow gears and volar then it would be a yes. Right now you will find IB not able to 1 shot the mobs and wait for 2 seconds to re cast. Ctrl clicking would be slow levelling.

 

for MvP yes I see IB Crit RKs MvPing

 

for WoE IB type yes. Crit type I wouldnt say no because you could really annoy people with bellum flail with that build though it would really depend who you are against.

 

Ultimately it would depend on the gears you have or could have. IB type right now needs atleast +12 old rune circlet to be effective. As for weapon, use the best you have. Lindy right now is the best but that is too expensive.
