Gear like the Lunar Rainbow and CD in Mouth say that the special effects happen whenever you perform a physical attack... Will it only work with auto-attacks or will it work with physical attack skills as well? I can't properly test this out, so I was hoping someone here would be able to tell me before I dive in too deep. I tried searching the Forums but wasn't able to find any info.

Those items usually mean auto-attacks only. Few gear like some Temporal Boots enchants can activate from skills. Also, items that have HP, SP leech work with skills.
