Greetings All,

As everyone is aware, WoE is currently very buggy, with players unable to interact with Castle NPCs, and treasure's not being accessible. We have replicated and confirmed many of the issues with our internal test server, and have dedicated our resources to arriving to a fix. By next week, we will likely have some direction to go in, which may include the pausing of our scheduled War of Emperium once we receive more word from our studio on our reports.

We know since the event has been buggy, that there has been no castle announcements, which may have lead to a situation where it was unknown if defending the castles was worthwhile. We also know that some castles have been invested in after breaking. What we want to do is arrive to a fair resolution for all involved once the fix is obtained, so we would like to discuss what options might be on the table (suggestions are also welcome).

1.) A rollback to the 4/27/23 econ and castle ownership
2.) A flat wipe of all castle ownership, with all castles set to 50 econ for the taking, during the next scheduled WoE after fix
3.) We leave castles as they are, if the players desire this

What we seek is feedback on what you, our player community who have invested time and resources towards our event, believe is the fairest most desirable outcome to resolve this after a fix is found.

Well the most important thing toward WoE is the bug of SC copying incorrect skills (Monster skills,  3rd class skills with Intimidate),  and infinite bug stack by certain equipments  (they can even complete the bug stack in WoE map dungeon in advance and get out when woe starts).

I think to resolve these balance bug is more important.

Hope that you can address these issues.

While a bit off topic, it is still WoE related so I will say we have a hitlist of items that are scheduled for ban from WoE, I do not have a time frame for those items at this time however.

For now I'd like this discussion to be for the current issues that will affect guilds holding castles, as once we sort out the issues and get the event back to it's regularly scheduled program, we'll have to make a decision as a community on how we want to resolve castle ownership. I would like to arrive to a middle ground that is acceptable for those involved.

We also know that some castles have been invested in after breaking.

I'd vote option 1, but since gm's are giving treasure restorations for bugged woe might as well just go option 3.
Also no castle has been invested in after breaking, literally can't talk to the steward so that's literally impossible.

If you find a fix to woe should still have it turned off until all the stat bugging issues are fixed as well as the fact that chaser/stalker can copy skills they should not be able to copy.

Also banning the items in woe will probably have too many loops around to bug it and still get it to woe, really needs the core issue fixed.

Should turn woe off the rest of the way, restore supplies used over the last weeks to everyone who used them in woe. Then fix whatever the heck is broken/other bugs. Then restore castles to their previous owners/econ from before the bug occured. Restoring treasure on castles that couldn't even be invested in/ have the econ read from the npc doesn't even make sense. One of the fields for restorations is to tell them it's econ and you can't even ask the npc.
Wouldn't be surprised if it takes months to get a fix from kRO.
Also maybe compensate the people who showed up to woe's during this time with a 1 day vip box per woe they showed to in order to apologize for wasting their time.

So discussing the skill copy issues, that may not be a fix that can be arrived to any time soon. From what I've been told, the core function of that skill, even if disallowed use from WoE would still have the cloned skill available. Its a discussion we were having here internally to try to break down the root cause. In the interim until a fair way can be devised to deal with the ability itself, the options left are item bans for now.

Going back to the options, post fix, that particular choice would be the easiest to perform as we would just patch in the fix, then WoE would resume after (we would also add the items bans). The other two choices would involve an extra step or two, but we are prepared to take them if we go that route.

3RD OPTION IS THE MOST VIABLE ONE

PROVIDED that Game MAsters restore the TREASURE LOOTS "DUE" the castle holders for the PAST 3 WEEKS. As Guilds have already exhausted supplies for the past 3 weeks to defend castle...

We have castle with 100ECON prior to error and it would be UNFAIR TO THOSE WHO HAVE DEFENDED THE CASTLE.

DO NOT BURDEN Guilds specifically that PLAYERS ARE NOT AT FAULT.

so OPTION 2 SHOULD NOT BE THE WAY

I do not know why Option 1 is present... IT IS AS IF PEOPLE CONSENTED TO OPTION 1 = GM ARE TOO LAZY FOR CASTLE TREASURE RESTORATION and in no way will COMPENSATE GUILD THEIR DUES

*** RETAIN CASTLES as IS, BUT COMPENSATE THE LOST TREASURE LOOTS to CASTLE HOLDERS FOR THE PAST 3 WEEKS (INCLUDING THIS ONE)

THen if no fix by next mainte - PAUSE ALL WoE

I don't participate in WOE but I APPLAUD you for this update. I would recommend a communication like this (even a general blanket statement) acknowledging the other issues just to let the community know you are aware.

I don't think an item ban will solve anything at this rate, there's just so many of them and are some other areas where they can be bugged and brought over.
Especially now with all skills getting copied, they are abuseable in their own right and open even more item abuse, atleast for SC.

Those concerns were brought up and discussed with my HQ, what was suggested to me was to start with item bans, as the issue with the SC's being able to be abused was something that would need more time to breakdown and figure out what can be done.

I understand that item bans are inadequate and undesirable overall, I am only putting forth suggestions given to me by my HQ team. These aren't permanent solutions by any means, its just what we have to offer in the interim.

We still don't know how much time would be needed to fix the root issue that is happening with the SCs, at this point we are testing and reporting until something further develops.

Why dont you just permanently delete accounts of the bug exploiters and abusers? This is a much faster hot fix solution than trying to find a long term fix, which Im sure will take a very long time to come by. Is it hard to detect? Item bans here and there but kockroaches will always find the ways to exploit other things instead lol

Go for the option 3 and restore all treasure loots since the bug started.

Even you ban those listed items there is still bug, the Shadow Chaser class is the one that is bug right now. Go check the script of Reproduce and Intimidate skills.

The question is, why are you taking so long in those bug fixes? What are you doing during your workdays? So many bugs and can't even fix a single bug. The problem is you rely much on your specialist or studio team.

@Cordite,  I just want to say that item ban in WoE will not solve this issue at all.     As the same as the Emerald Ring,  you banned it on WoE maps, however, its bug is still abusable, because SC can abuse the bug on WoE dungeon (which is the same maps server as WoE), and then come out to WoE maps with keeping the bug status.

At the other hand, banning Dark Ring may seem unacceptable to some GX players (not me).

So I think to solve this issue, simply item ban is useless. Please fix the mechanism of equipments-skills-bonus.

Option 1 and restore what is being spent these weeks. In case you can't repay what is spent, it is better to suspend WoE until a final solution is really reached.
One more thing to add: Something funny that has happened since the maintenance is that the names of some kingdoms and castles have changed. The most notorious are the kingdom of Nidhoggur which has now been renamed Nidabehl, I think that is where the root of this problem lies.
Now in the case of those who use certain items both for all classes and specifically for the SC on a larger scale, in games where errors are abused I think permanent bans are applied, don't tell me how broken the game is that neither can you do it?
Ban those who cheat and in that period look for the solution, but make it very clear that using cheats or exploits have permanent ban consequences, otherwise sooner or later you will solve the problems and after time they will find others and since there are no bans they will continue the same modus operandi: They secretly use their exploits since no one is capable of banning them and these are discovered until one betrays the other and we will continue in the same vicious circle.

@crodite. None of the options you have given resolve anything. Wiping all, resetting, leaving as is. You failed to mention if these will resolve the existing problems/bugs after you executed one of those options.

Why can't you resolve first the existing problems/bugs using codes then we proceed to those options afterwards. It seems like you don't have fix and just want to prolong this kind of environment.

Give us some proper options not a dead-end route.

Thanks

The third option is the best solution for everyone because if you can't talk to NPC, so it means you can't have the treasure loots at all and you can't increase the castle economy and castle defense too. So leave the castles as they are.
