Hey all! I’ve never played RO before but a friend of mine was waxing nostalgic about the game and it got me interested…. Now I’m hooked. Most of the posts I see when I Google are from ~2013 and not always the same version of the game, so I was hoping o could find some answers!

When I try to create a party, it always tells me “Invalid Party Name” no matter what I name it, with spaces and without. What’s stopping me? I tried making a party title “Orc Dungeon,” Orc Dun,” “orc,” “orc dung,” Orc,” etc and all of them were stopped.

Are there groups for leveling together? How do you usually find them?

Every time I go to the Eden group, hundreds of players are standing around with little static speech bubbles above their heads. What are those?

Are there any items from the cash shop that are worth getting? I don’t really mind cash shops and am playing casually so am looking for things that might make my life easier.

I can’t for the life of me understand refining/enchanting gear or cards. Right now I’m just using my Eden gear - is there something else I should aim for while leveling?

For the Party name, you may not be able to use some common ones. 

 

Invalid Party Name is caused by duplicated with other people's party names.

 

If you are Lucky, you can be the first one to use it. It is just forbidding the whole population to have a same party name.  

 

Nowadays, there is no party for leveling. The early game is basically PVM PC game. You can use leveling guide from iRO wiki or ask specific leveling question in each Class Section on this Forum. There may be some leveling party/leaching party at certain locations like Juno or entrance of a dungeon. 

 

In Eden, that is the place people want to do trade for high amount of zeny. there is vending limit for regular vending skill, max 1billion zeny. So in this game, there is system for using Chat room to indicate what you are selling, or what you want to buy/trade. 

 

VIP would be the first thing I recommend. Other than that, for gears, I don't think so. Some gambling box, OCP, it is worth for a trial, but you need to learn what the package or gears are for first. The current ones available are OCP 47 and 48. Also, check out Kachua Key stuff. It is another gambling box. You got Keys from certain cash items. 

 

The first non-cash items you can get, generally, it is under 16.1 patch, exchange with Honor Token. (Level 100+, quests available). Before that, any gears should be fine, it is just a bit slower or faster for leveling. you need to ask specific gear question in regard of the Class you are playing, if you want to know more.
