Hi, I'm currently trying to get my first character (I'm a Merchant) to transcend into a High Novice but I wanted to clarify if we really need to pay the 1,285,000 Zeny? Cause a friend of mine who is a Paladin said that I didn't need to pay. But even after talking to the book and reaching the heart of Ymir, I still can't transcend.

Because you need VIP status in order to avoid paying zeny and magical stone. Use 1 day VIP (you can get it from daily login) to skip the payment

I gave that quest a try and fount it too tedious. Luckily my friend helped me out by giving me the zeny I needed to transcend. Thanks for the reply though.

Job Change post trans is goofy too. Swordie instructor at the OG job change spot told me to go to the academy, only for the academy guy to tell me "I already have a job". I talked to the woman behind the desk on the first floor of the academy and she signed me back up as a newbie (gained a level!), then went back to the swordsman room. Still nothing, but then realized you need to talk to the big guy behind the little swordie instructor...I think he's a clone npc of the instructor in the original job change place. Either way, all that made something in the script happy.

Hope that made sense to whoever ran into this too.

I just finished the quest to become a Mechanic last night and OMG was it a hassle to walk through the core of Juno's dungeon (not to mention freaking getting to the entrance alone was annoying as heck, FAQ those harpies and their silence) and avoiding all those droid enemies.
