Good day, Rune Midgardians! I hope you're all doing wonderfully.

 

It's no secret that the current state of the competitive scene can be summarized as a one-shot festival, where most classes have OCP items that enhance their unique traits or skills, keeping them at the forefront of an interesting competitive landscape. However, some classes feel somewhat neglected in this scenario and could use a push to shine like the others. I'm talking about the Mastersmith - Whitesmith, Biochemist - Creator, and Taekwon Master - Star Gladiator. For this post, I’ll focus on the last one.

 

Unlike its counterparts, such as the Super Novice, Gunslinger, and Ninja, the Taekwon Master is one of those expanded classes that lacks AoE damage and suffers from a single-target focus that requires staying close to the enemy. But that's not all: the most viable build would be full reductions + ASPD to break Emperiums or remove enemy buffs with Flying Kick. Unfortunately, the HP pool of this class is abysmally low. Even using the ranking system with a Taekwon Boy + base HP increase gear + HP % gear doesn’t suffice to achieve a decent HP pool for the competitive scene.

 

When it comes to a damage-focused build, the outlook is bleak. The skill Solar, Lunar, and Stellar Union doesn’t work properly; its DEF bypass isn’t implemented correctly (iRO Wiki, 2022). Furthermore, considering the competitive context (One Shot Fiesta), the use of the various kicks is an absolute no-go. This leaves Flying Kick as the only option.

 

For all these reasons, it would be interesting to see the implementation of new items, skill reworks, or even changes to game mechanics to make this class viable in the competitive scene.
