Turns out, stopping people from playing on older OSes did not stop the bots that steal Ether Dust off the ground. They can obviously "see" it better than real players can when it's behind a background prop, buried under despawning monsters, or buried under other items. Letting them have the advantage that they do just doesn't make sense for such a heavily botted item, so the easiest way to level things out would be to give Ether Dust an aura/beacon similar to the ones that Cards and weapons with random stats have so that they're harder to miss.
