Hey All, 

 

I recently returned and got some gears with the help of some friends.

 

My current gear borrowed from friend: https://imgur.com/wHIPzfy

 

I have couple of questions:

- I have a +8 Cylinder Hairband from long ago, is that better than the Jejecap my friend lent?

- I see a lot of youtuber using Saphir Halls with Long-Range enchantment, should I try to aim for that and return the sword to my friend?

- Is Alice Body Pillow worth it to upgrade to +12? And if so, what's the safe way to approach refining nowadays?

- Is Cylinder Boot worth it? (I Previously used +9 Temporal Magic Runaway + Ring)

- Is Scientist Mantle the best in slot? (I have a +9 FAW with EA10)

 

Where do I train at this level?

- Keep using the Cylinder Hairdband until you can make yourself an Old Midas - The cast delay reduction from Jejecap its useful only once you get rid of the animation delay being Biolo and using Wooden Tree summon

 

- Dragon Slayer is by far better than the Saphir Hall, so dont bother, keep using the DSL

 

- Alice Pillow is good but you might be better off using a Fake Alloy Pot or High-tech Shield

- Cylinder Boots are ok, there are better options but its al dependent to budget and such, if you are still leveling Peep Toe Shoes are a better option

 

- BiS for garment would be Royal Alberta Cape, after maint today, but FAW or Scientist are decent options, main source of damage will come from the DSL.

It looks like I should save up for the upcoming Royal Alberta Cape instead of spending on Cylinder boots and invest in Peep Toe Shoes for leveling.

 

Also, is the leveling guide on IROwiki up to date?

if you don't mind I asking, what is the best in slot for weapon, headgear, and boots for Biolo? I am having Biolab set at the moment, but feel a bit low of damage on level 9 COGH.

I believe BiS for Biolo for those 3 are Abydos Morning Star, Old Midas Whisper (with Document Merchant), and Ancient Mechanic Greaves.

Thanks for the suggestions! I went ahead and bought a bunch of KP and got lucky with the Royal Alberta Cape, but refining has been rough. I literally don't have any zeny left to continue. Is Grading even worth it? It's a new thing I tried it and didn't know it wipes all refine level, almost cried. (Went from +14 to 0 Grade D -> C)

Also, since there is Ancient Mechanic Greaves, then should I wait for Ancient Geneticist Greaves? (Assuming there is one)

ouch, yeah you shouldnt go past +11 until you finish grading, every grade resets the refine to +0

not sure Ancient Geneticist Greaves is a thing, sooo.

 

in each grade you will have new bonus, check out the bonus to see if you want them, it is not necessary to have grade A, but the RAC you have is doing the best value at Grade A. 

 

if you have limited budget, you can try something without grading, like Moonlight Bell

I think I will leave grading until all my gears are completed, it's starting to add up.

I see Ancient Mechanic Greaves mentioned as BIS compared to cylinder boots. Is it actually better? If so, why?

The grade bonus provides more benefits but obviously having it is expensive as hell. you cant even use safe to refine +11 or above since its armor level 2. I say cylinder boots is still decent.

Also, cherub coronet is better than seraphim.

Thanks @EdwardEG, I replaced the Seraphim, ATK is almost 100 more.

Also, noticed Grey wolf is pretty cheap now and provides talent status
