I just got back into the game — last time I played was around 2016. My char is about level 125, and I'm looking for ways to level up besides High TI. The mobs there are too tough for me and I definitely need a party.

I'm looking for something I can solo if possible, since all my friends have already retired. Honestly, I’m not even sure if there are any players left around level 125++ anyway.

Levelling in year 2026 is not the same as levelling in year 2016. 

 

 

Meta has changed. Now there are so many equipments that can make everyone stronger. But if you do not have enough zeny, perhaps you can work on the freebie gears such as Imperial set and Grace later on when you reached level 150

 

There are also other free boost when you participate in temporarily events such as Valentine as of now. Last month Christmas event was crazy that you can own free equipment that gave you HUGE stats boost and free 1h HP+SP regen boost

 

There is also Lovelean buff which warpportal usually give every Sunday such as this. It helps ALOT for free HP + SP regen, 3x exp and stats boost.

I’m playing a Genetic, and yeah, you're right—my Erde is definitely outdated. But from what I’ve seen, refining to +9, 10, 11, or 12 isn't as brutal as it used to be. That’s why I’m still figuring out which gear is actually worth refining, since upgrading my old stuff feels like a waste of zeny.
 

Based on what you said, High TI is pretty much my only option.  

I was hoping for some solo quests or instances that actually give good EXP.

For weapon, get Dragon Slayer Longsword and there's a written guide for Genetic if you want to read more info about genetic gears

 

Yes refining +9 to 12 is easy because we've got that Battle Pass Season 2 which is still on-going. The core researches gave Sealed Low/High certificates which are tradeable and the supply is more than demand which makes it easier to get high refines (that is limited to level 1-4 weapon and lv 1 armor)

Thanks for the info on the weapons and the guide! will read it later. Honestly, there is  a lot to process —there are so many items I’ve never even heard of before.

 

The Battle Pass concept actually looks pretty fun, kind of like modern games where you get decent rewards and EXP from daily quests. I think I’ll just stick with that for now until I’m fully caught up with how iRO works these days.
