If you asking about lvling rogue (sin/SR -same) I must say its one of the hardest classes to lvl up. They are single target dps and really gear depending, you cant kite mobs like casters do, you cant solo some elites / nightmare mobs coz of this. Its better after 65 if you have full 65 pve/pvp set and good weapons coz of gear and high lvl spells. As for me sin is most fun for play class in this game( not only in this hehe) , but its all about your personal choise. If you ready for hard ( and mostly SOLO) lvling then pick sin/SR and ejoy. Also if you love PK/PvP (must say tho at low lvl rogues are :D :o ) this class would be great too. And again even at high lvl most of parties (grind parties/dangeon) dont really like inviting sins/Srs ( single target dps QQ ). If you dont wanna suffer coz of those aspects roll Defiller ( Soul Hunter) or Shamman ( Mistic/Forsaker) - easy lvling and good and fun casters for pvp as for me :D

starting of with a character that is capable of aoes (area of effect) is usually a good idea. you will be welcome in grindpartys, and its easier to farm stuff, often times easier to get contribution on the battlefield aswell.

soul hunter - defiler is kinda harsh in the beginning, but begins to get better 66+.
if you consider buying a reskill lateron and max your lower level attack skill in the beginning its okay.

templar - tempest used to be the easiest beginning class. will soon get a nerf on their heal skill in terms of cool down time. but i still think it will be the easiest class to begin with, especially pve wise. you still will be able to heal you up instantly, just have to wait a little longer to do it again.

shammy yah i guess...

but if you really want to be an assasin then go for it, being a (mostly) single target class it just will be harder to levelup because you most likely wont get a grindparty.
but in general its always nice to have a 2nd aoe char for farming.

If you're looking for the easiest/safest/quickest grind, then I'd go with templar --> tempest. They lack HP and defense but have great MP recovery for lower levels, high damage for single target and AoE. Currently the most overpowered AoE class in the game for both solo and party grinding. Soon their heal will be nerfed like leash said but their AoEs will all be 8 targets minimum so in terms of grind, they will remain extremely overpowered compared to other classes.

yeah which is rather silly, they are making op pve class even more op in pve...but kind of weak in pvp, they know no balance

rogue isnt that bad levelingwise. comparing the pve-part in the game to s1 times it became a joke, so if the role of rogues/2nd job classes seem to be appealing to you. the levels which might make you struggle a bit will pretty much fly by. and from 35 on it becomes easier. and 2nd jobs will give you the damage boost you will need to make the pve-part as easy as for every other class.

I didn't think leveling my rogue was nearly as bad as leveling my warrior. Stealth helps a lot...

i mean s1 was really effin hard to grind, 2-3 mobs and you had to sit and recover your hp being an assassin, now you can just shred through tons of mobs w/o sitting once. so go for it if you like it.
