I bought the Priest outfit just for the looks. I don't care about stats on IM stuff at all. And what's so great about 30 int? It raises the strength of my buffs by just 2 points. I doubt it makes a difference if someone has 4000 or 4002 AP.
You are absolutely right. It amazes me how much people don't realize how the game mechanics changed December 23, 2009 and walk around acting as if their wonderful high INT buffs are going to make a sizable difference. Guess what folks, its mostly physchological. Well, if it makes you feel good to get "awesome buff" then its a placebo effect. Enjoy it!
For some in the game right now, Int is like a pet, sort of like this brick is:
Essentially the DEVs "stretched out" the range in which your AP has the same damaging effect on monsters and how quickly you can kill them. A few points of AP or any other stat makes so little difference as to be impossible to measure. I've done similar experiments where I add another 50 pts of INT to my cleric and then see what the differnce in buffed stats on my borg is and find its sadly a tiny difference. So those running around bragging about how high their INT is is just hot air and hype, but has very little benefit in game. The effect of INT on buffs needs to be readusted to scale with the new battle mechanics implimented first in Dec 2009. The only reason I have even bothered to farm and aquire a good set of gear for my cleric is in hopes that some day the DEV's actually make it work my while to have it.
