Well hello Mr. Diary! Just in case you didnâ??t know, my name is Captain Absentis Raebus and I am a captain of the Akram fleet of the Junon planet.
The reason Iâ??m writing this diary is because the kingdom gave me a ship and they want me to take it to an expedition whoever knows whereâ?¦
They told me that I am the only person who can lead this expedition. Sillyâ?¦ They havenâ??t given me any orders in the past five years; they just probably want to get rid of me so they donâ??t have to spend Zulie on me after I get retired.
So this morning an Akram Ambassador personally visited me in my house on the main street to tell me whatâ??s going on. He barely gave me any useful information about this expedition; he said that he canâ??t tell it while he doesnâ??t know for sure that I go. I didnâ??t really want to accept this expedition, but then he told me that Iâ??d get a new house far from Junon Polis. I could not say no to that as I hate this cityâ?¦
So my new ship, the Tentacle is scheduled to set sail on tomorrow morning. Since there was still a lot of time until tomorrow I went to tell my little sister that I go. She is the tavern owner of the only tavern in Junon Polis and she has a daughter whose name I always manage to forgetâ?¦ Ah, got it, her daughterâ??s name is Harin. She keeps telling that Harin will be the tavern owner in the future, but Iâ??d rather see her become a sailor like myself. After all, sheâ??s only five years old; she probably wouldnâ??t want to be a tavern ownerâ?¦
After I have visited my sister I went to put my old crew together once more, since the ambassador informed me that the current crew of the ship is â??lackingâ?. Looks like the Akrams spend too much on their pleasure palaces, so they have no money to get a crew. No matter, I wouldnâ??t go without my crew anyways.
First I visited old John who is now the smith of Junon Polis; he also got himself an apprentice. Oh yes, that kid, Crune seems very talented, he can replace John while he is away on the seas.
Now that I had John with me, our next step was to pick up Bob the deck hand. As expected, he gladly accepted my invitation, as he has gotten bored of washing the streets of Junon Polis.
At this point I had my deck hand and Old John, only the navigator was missing. I heard that Mr. Jones, my navigator lives in the lighthouse of the harbor. He is probably the best navigator I ever met in my life and Iâ??ll visit him tomorrow right before we set sail with the Tentacleâ?¦

Today was the day when we finally set sail! As every morning I had to dress up, but today I dressed into my captain uniform, because after all I am going to be the captain of a freaking ship no matter how much I hate this dress.
In the hurry I almost forgot about my cat, Raffles. As I was in a hurry I just threw Mr. Raffles into a suitcase along with some clothes and other stuff. Perhaps that wasnâ??t nice, but hey!
I was ready, so I went to visit my old navigator, Jones. Oh boy, he is now even older than he ever was! Sadly, Jones did not want to come with me, fortunately his son gladly joined the expedition. His sonâ??s name is Jones, by the way. â?? I know, so creativeâ?¦
On the way to Jonesâ?? lighthouse I had the chance to take a first look at my new ship. My goddess, thatâ??s a huge ship for sure, no wonder they didnâ??t have enough crew members. A huge ship filled with a bunch of explorers, a bunch of scientists. Oh, how much I hate those guys; they always think they know it better. Guess itâ??s too late to turn back, Iâ??ll have to learn to live with it, as Iâ??ll have them with me for a while, or at least until they donâ??t get eaten by sharks, or krawfies, ha-ha!
The ambassador who visited me yesterday was waiting for me at the ship. While I was walking towards him, I realized that I still didnâ??t know his name, so I asked his name and Ambassador Darren told me his name. Yes, thatâ??s his name, Darren. He also told me that he will one day become the mayor of Junon Polis. â??Yeah, rightâ?¦
It was time to step aboard and sail away. Most of the passengers are the members of this so called expedition which I still didnâ??t know anything about, so I asked one of the expedition members. Doctor Charles told me that we are going to investigate the whereabouts of a city lost long time ago. He told that many ship captains reported anomalies at the area where the city once was. We probably not going find anything, but who knows.
What city this is? Well, I heard stories of a city that just totally disappeared soon after the invention of mana engines. The planet of Junon once had two major cities and one of them just disappeared. Nobody knows what happened, of course, why they would know. That would destroy the funâ?¦
It was time to leave the harbor, so I gave the orders to set sail. Not long after we were on open sea. Slowly sailing on the seaâ?¦ Yeah, thatâ??s the most boring part of the whole thing.
After everything was done I went to my cabin only to realize that my cat, Mr. Raffles was still in the suitcase. Ouch, poor thing! So I took him out and fed him. After that I sat back into my chair and started to write my diaryâ?¦ Wait, Iâ??m still writing, or notâ?¦

Today was the second day on the sea! So far everything goes as expected, half of the expedition members got seasickness and the other half complains about the food or the weather.
Old John told me that I should get to know these people by talking to them, at first I thought he was kidding, but he was serious. Why would I want to know who they are?
So first I got to talk with Dr. Amens, he told me he is an inventor, but I doubt he ever invented anything, otherwise, why would he join an expedition? He looks quite crazy too. â??Scary!
The second I talked to was George the geologist. Not a very interesting person, reallyâ?¦
Then I met Boris, another geologist. As far as I observed he likes having endless discussions about geology with other geologists.
Really, most of these people are either geologists or topographers, nothing interesting about them.
Though one expedition member just caught my attention, a young girl called Erica. She didnâ??t tell me what exactly is she doing in the expedition, but she seems to be a very nice person, Iâ??ll probably try to talk to her more often, but who knows.
Other than that I talked to some of the more important crew members like the engineer. I managed to forget their names, but Iâ??ll probably have the opportunities to ask about that later.
All in all, this day was rather boringâ?¦

Our favorite inventor Dr. Amens has decided to blow up his cabin with â??somethingâ? as he called it. I donâ??t like if random passengers blow up things on my ship, so I ordered the crew to keep all of the â??somethingsâ? we have far away from Amens.
Apart of that I received the usual complaints about food and seasickness. Silly land-lubbers!
I decided to visit our chef to check whatâ??s going on. Mrs. Cookie, our chef informed me that we only have mushrooms, which half of the expedition members dislike. Mushrooms!! Who had this brilliant idea to fill our cargo with mushrooms?!
Apart of these, today was rather quiet. Right now Iâ??m thinking on a solution to our mushroom problem. Hopefully I figure out something until tomorrowâ?¦

The fourth day on the sea! Today was mushroom day it seems like. The ship is filled with a bunch of hungry mushroom haters.
This morning my navigator, Mr. Jones gave me a brilliant idea to fix this problem. It was rather easy; we gave our passengers some fishing rods and told them to catch some fish if they want to eat.
Luckily many of the fishes in the sea like mushroom and fortunately we had â??someâ? leftover mushrooms in our cargo and looks like most of these people knows how to use the fishing rods.
Most of them, except one. While I was walking around to check if there are any problems I have noticed that Mrs. Erica had some troubles with the fishing. She is the young lady I mentioned a few days ago.
I went to help her out a bit, as she clearly had no idea what she was doing. After I showed her how to use the fishing rod, she looked upon me with a very gracious smile. For a moment I could not say anything.
Unfortunately this moment did not last long enough, because the alarm was sounded. A pirate ship appeared in the far. It was one of the Kenji pirate ships, those bastards blew Junon Polis harbor and captured a few other harbors nearly six years ago. They probably came for revenge, because we almost completely wiped them out.
Anyway, the pirates changed their direction and they were heading towards us. I ordered the gunners to take their positions at the cannons.
Oh, I didnâ??t even mention yetâ?¦ This ship, the Tentacle is armed with twenty of the best cannons. We got eight on each side of the ship and four on the front. These monsters got twice the firepower of those cannons which the castle gears are armed with and of course twice the range of those of the pirateâ??s.
The fifth cannon shell we fired managed to hit their engines and caused a beautiful explosion. Roast pirate for everyone!
After this we just left the burning pirate ship behind, we certainly didnâ??t want to see pirate captives on our ship. Ugh!

Not long after I ate my breakfast Mr. Boris came to inform me that we are halfway there, so if all goes well we are probably going to reach our destination within five days.
Apart of that, today was the first day when I did not receive complaints about mushrooms. Each of our passengers managed to catch a few fish, even Mrs. Erica caught one.
This day was a rather boring uneventful day.
Day 6
The fifth day on the sea! This morning Mr. Raffles decided to wake me up by walking on my face. Sometimes I donâ??t even know why I keep this stupid cat around.

Today is Thursday and the sixth day on the sea. Thursday is probably the worst day of the week, on Thursday somehow everything refuses to work.
First our engine decided to stop working, because of a broken cogwheel. Our engineer could only fix it after nine hours, so we wasted a lot of time because of this. Stupid Akram Kingdomâ?¦ They even fail to throw a working ship together.
However, probably the most terrible of all of todayâ??s disasters was Dr. Amensâ?? newest experiment. He was experimenting with explosive birds, but somehow one of his subjects managed to escape from its cage. Probably because our most precise Dr. Amens left the cage door open. That, or the bird just blew out the cage door, but it probably wasnâ??t the bird as it was still alive after getting out.
It isnâ??t hard to figure out what happened after. The bird went to the kitchen and it exploded. Explosive birds usually explode, explained Amens. Now half of the kitchen is destroyed, but fortunately nobody died. â??I just love disastersâ?¦
Hopefully tomorrow has fewer disastersâ?¦

Typing is boring, so I stop typing before I get bored.
Being bored is boring, boring just makes me have not fun, not fun makes me bored, and being bored is just simply boring!
