I'm a level 20 archer, but when I talk to the class master dude, he tells me to come talk to him when I'm level 20!
How do I get a job change? I'm confused!

try going to your journal, and go to the quests tab. then do all available hero quests.

Do I have to do that Culvert quest? All the monsters in there are a lot stronger than me, and it seems ridiculous to have to do that, when the required level for job change is only 20

iirc the culvert quest doesn't require you to defeat the monsters just the tank things.
