So I've been gone from iRO for 6 years and I'm been thinking of coming back and starting fresh again. What I was curious about is if this game is still the awesome MMO I remember it was or has it turned to ...Thanks for any input

It's definately not the RO you'd remember, but try it since it's going free I would suggest.

Is it still overrun with bots? Is this main city still Pront or do people hang out elsewhere?

Well there's a free server (valkyrie) and a premium server (Ymir) which is the combination of loki/iris/chaos/sakray, there's pretty much no bots on ymir.

Pront is the main place, there's usually people in payon and alde too.

Yeah, things changed a lot.... stats, skills, you can go to level 150 now, third classes, transcendents.... It's just too much to explain. Hit up www.irowiki.org and do some reading I would suggest.

If you need any help I can point you in the direction of some good friends in game. I don't play atm due to work, otherwise I'd talk you through it all.

iRO is becoming entirely F2P come March I think? So, from what I know, once F2P hits you don't need to pay for a subscription to log on and play on Ymir or Yggdrasil (the two premium servers) anymore but there are "add on benefits" to those who subscribe.

Check this for a really good class guide for renewal. In case you are wondering which class is good to use/have for returning. Welcome back.

You might not have to wait if you just want to log on and check your characters though. They sent out 7 or 14 day codes out to everyone who ever played the game. This was done last December. You might be able to use those if you can find them in your email(if they are still redeemable). Anyone know when the codes expire?

Thank god I was not the only one thinking of that when I saw the thread title.

Also, if you have that 14-day code and it is still valid, you are automatically creditted enough time to let your account last till it's F2P, so I'd suggest you check on that!

The people who created this game with passion have all left 5 years ago, it seems. It's a mess. It could have been different but the current ppl don't see it's potential to become a fun game with proper adjustments(not the iro staff, they are trying, but sadly cant do much on their own...), but instead they fix stuff 2 years too late, and rush with new imbalanced updates to distract and keep ppl here.
