0 or 1% when there's no exp event.

Premium service, 1%.

Valkyrie, 3%.

This is with or without bonus exp event. 0% would be a no death penalty event.

I've died twice to lag and gave up. 3% is a ton when there's no event and you're over lvl 98 ;)

Try dying at 149 on jRO, and you'll wanna die in RL. Losing 50m must be hella fun.




But, yeah, RO has always been full of unnecessary sadistic features. I never understood this. After F2P Valk server will have the option to sub for Ymir-like benefits such as the low 1% death penalty. I wouldn't want no death penalty though personally, I think it adds some level of risk that makes things less boring so that when you get in a dangerous situation you're more paying attention than "ho hum who cares if I die", no risk no challenge.
I do agree though the lag is frustrating, they did an announcement last night about the latency/connection issues so hope they can fix it next maint.

What risk? The risk of lagging out and dying? It really ought to be called "lag penalty."

Since renewal there's been no risk at all in leveling, so the penalty only:
1. pisses off players
2. prevents enjoyment of potentially fun activities like ET, until you're 150/50
3. seemingly increases revenue through sales of "lag insurance" until you start considering the number of people put off by the whole system
