Hi. My scholar just hit 94. I have 99 base Dex, 90 base Int and several stat points to distribute. This leads me to a couple of questions. First of all, when I ascend from Scholar to Sorcerer will I be able to keep additional unused stat points? Secondly - would it be more worthwhile to use the rest of those points in Vit, or should I stack more Int for the change?

Additionally when I become a Sorcerer how should I allocate my stat points? 120 Dex, then 120 Int? 120 Int, then 120 Dex? 120 Dex, 1xx Int, rest Vit? Etc. My Scholar is a bolter with some support skills on the side, and I intend to go the Psychic Wave/Extreme Vacuum route straight away.

Finally, any tips for playing a sorcerer would be great. Thank you.

Not sure if gear is relevant, but here's my gear and stats:

Since you don't have to use up your stat points before going 3rd job, you'll be able to make your stats go above 99 once you hit 3rd job. Part of me wants to say save the points for more int, but I love vit and you'll squish a lot less with at least a little vit. I'm used to being FS so I can't live without vit.

I'm not a pro on stat builds, but I went with a very straightforward 80 (vit)/120 (int)/120 (dex) build for my mostly PvM sorc. I started with 99 int/99 dex and then kept pumping vit until it hit 80. After that I maxed out int and then did the rest to dex as I hit 150.

And as for tips as a Sorc... If you haven't married a linker yet, marry one now. If not, become BFFs with a needy AB.

At your current level you might be better off levelling at siromas. If you get a card use them once you are 95 at magmarings.

Ideally when you start sorc get at least 80 dex imo or else it is too slow. When i was 150 i still had 85 dex but if i had to do it again i would prob have gotten 90-100 dex but not straight of the bat.

When you turn sorc the first place you go will likely be magmarings or id3 or magma maybe. At the former your stats dun matter much. At this point plan your next levelling spot... juperos is great once you get psychic wave. About 80-90 int depending on your gears is enough to oneshot the robots. The main thing is to have enough vit to not stun so long you die from being unable to indulge for kahii.

Getting more int once you have 95 vit is a good idea as rachel may be your next levelling spot (decent if it is crowded or spawn event) and i think you would need at least 100 int to one shot there. I would get 120 int at some point as higher levelling you will not be able to oneshot anymore and high int is worth it on sorc since the int directly adds to pw damage.

Getting more dex is up to you. If you plan on doing nameless i would suggest some luk for matk and curse resistance or else you will be using alot of holy waters. But that is really up to you. Whether you end up at nameless or AL3, i would advise you get 100 vit total at least or stun at worst own you or at best limit the speed of your levelling.

Also remember the higher your hp and indulge level, the more sp you get back and the more you can tank with kahii.

If there is a safe level for upgrading on your server i would advise you upgrade your weapon to that level.

Okay, I've actually created a TK so that I can marry the SL to my Scholar. Thanks for that info, Charisma.

The conclusion I've come to when reading Anko's post is this: when one turns into a 3rd class, one's stat points are reset.

So basically you want me to go 80-90 Dex, approximately 90 Int, and as much Vit as humanly possible up to 95-100. Pump Vit until it's at 95-100 if I can't make it there straight-away, and then Dex to 95? Afterwards follow up with Int to 120.

So, essentially, what will my stats be then? 120 Int, 95/9x/10x/11x Dex, 100 Vit?

I'm on the Valkyrie server, so there's no such thing as a safe upgrade limit. Otherwise all of my gear would be at least +4. While on the topic of gears...is there anything I should change? Anything I should add? (It makes me sad every time I realize that I can't have a Creamy Card, but that's that, I guess.)

Any other points or opinions would be happily accepted.

Your stats aren't reset when you turn 3rd class, just many people choose to use reset stones to do so. If you have never reset before then the reset npc should be back in at pront fountain so you should be eligible for 1 free stat/skill reset.

Apparently even on valk you can get creamy cards now - that was the one thing that stopped me playing valk lol. And i think the safe limit on valk is now in line with ymir. :( If you level in nameless you will get alot of lich bone wands and perhaps some necro cards so you can prob upgrade some and card with necro cards.

The stats thing sounds good, what you can do if you reset and try somewhere like juperos is to leave some stats unallocated and adjust them as you test out your levelling - to adjust for descrepancies in gear etc.

Tip: blinding mist is useful when you gather mobs and to save you tanking them as psychic wave casts.

If you see a cheap wizardry staff or soul staff and spiritual ring you might want to use those since they are higher matk and your shield is non-racial anyway. I wouldn't advise 2-handed staves in demanding areas where you mob big though, those get me killed often without my shield.

And good luck. :)
