So I had my time playing with hunter and going to choose 2nd job soon. Firstly I thought I am going straight to ranger without any doubts. But the further I go the more my opinion changes.
Basically I would like to know how well rangers and avengers do against other classes in duels/single and massive fights and which class is more versatile and preferable in raiding groups. Maybe one of them has an advantange in PvP?
Also I head rumors that rangers got badly nerfed by range extension lowering attack speed. Some say it's not a big deal, some can't stop the QQ about it and others still say that they keep attacking with 1.0 speed from 50m range. So who could explain it a bit more detailed? I know the play style I am going to chose for one or another decision I'm up to make. Rangers keep max distance and use AA to kill their enemies fast and Avengers spam traps around their enemies and use capture monsters to aid them in a fight but is that effective besides capturing a boss?
I'm still confused about which class to choose.
And the last question for Xenoas. If you are Ranger/Avenger would you chose being an opposite job and why?

After atk range nerf i changed my ranger to avenger, even et wast implemented yet
i tried use s1 mh set, s1 -9% belt and s2 -10% glowes and it gave just 0.4 reduction from 1.7 to 1.3, had 7 pts in range extention
for pvp better cad sets like rh evil or alacrity and if use them u cant use s1 mh and -10% glowes, so 0.4 reduction works just in theory
atm with et mobs implementing only avenger is right choice imo, ie not so hard make 20 frags on foc, 2 times more on svs if play carefully
and still u can spam traps, this makes good geared avenger almost unkillable 1vs1

And what if we compare Ranger and Avenger damage? Ranger has higher damage and Avenger has higher defense? Am I right?
I also heard that trap delays got changed too? Can you comment on this? And what about capturing monsters? Is it worth it?

In pvp
If same lvl sin scud me he getting stunned by paralisis trap and bomb trap with guided trap kill it, if sin is higher lvl that u there may be few sec delay until one of traps work
its worth capture 80+ mobs, like et ones, 83 ones from st with rifle cuz of ranged kick off buffs; sometimes for kiteing bosses even poison guard 74 is useful cuz have slow like kaza but it have low hp
In pvp avg geared ranger dmg isnt so great really cuz of party defence buffs ppl usually get on battlefileds, so u need be really good geared and have a lot of cad; and rangers dont have high str like sins so can increase cad just with enchants in jewels and reenforcing cad armor
avenger really have high defence, with reenforced bloody doll or alosa its 2k+

For pve
better go mystic or other aoe, much more effective ; but in pve in pair with aoe avenger much more useful cuz can paralize multiple targets

Could you share your build with me? Have already seen 2-3 builds but they all are more or less different.

avenger - traps maxed, -def debuffs maxed for et mob support, def maxed, capturing high lvl monster maxed
hunter - sniper coolness 9, crit buff maxed(some ppl prefer smoke shell firing over this), uppercut 8(if want can put those pts into eliminating trap), guided trap maxed
in dna need 1 pt for capturing lvl80 mob, for 83 need 4pts, put pts also in reducing bomb trap and guided trap cd, paralysis trap range and max targets, defence

What do you think about honey bees? Some people say it's worth it since skill is AoE and does good damage with some DoT effect. Also which one debuffs are you talking about? Chemical bomb firing and spreading chill?
And why do people use Weapon upgrade on avengers? It gives physical crit rate not skill crit ... traps > AA.

reason to max weapon upgrade is becos u still need to shoot when traps in cd, besides there isnt much skills to use other than traps.

My build

hunter skills:

high concentration - 1
capturing low lvl monsters - 1
sniper coolness - 9
quick firing - 1(short cool down)
weapon upgrade - 10
escaping - 6 (20m)
uppercut - 5
explosive trap -10
guided trap - 10


Avenger skills:

para trap - 10
bomb trap -7
inducing honey bees - 5(extra aoe)
defense up -10
capturing middle lvl monsters - 1
capturing high lvl monsters - 4



still have 4 pts left at L79



DNA:
poten guided trap -5
poten bomb trap- 5
strengthen defense up - 7
wide range para trap - 8(+5 targets)

the two debuffs are nice. you can take off about 900 defense (SR and LR both) and they're spammable such that you can keep that -900ish def down going indefinitely. Pricey to max points wise though, if do max them, you're going to have make some compromises elsewhere in your gayvenger build.
