I played during the beta before and now wanting to go back to it.

There are so many server and I heard everything is free now(?).

Can some people recommend me or tell me about each server?

I rather join a fresh server where it just started since I don't want to compete with the high level players who play a long time.

When I installed ragnarok, there are three icons, Ragnaork, Valkyrie and Ragnarok Renewal? What the difference? Which one should i pick?

After maint today, all the clients will lead to the same place, a choice between the three servers:

Ymir (VIP - need paid sub in order to create accounts, but not to play existing chars). Established server, mostly bot-free.

Valk Established server, heavily botted because it's free and always has been.

Ygg - Former premium server started last october with the renewal update, but which never really got off the ground. It's now going to be a free server like Valk. So there will be a bunch of new players joining, plus the few people who played on it prior to it going F2P.

Its probably inevitable people wil start on the free servers to try things out and see what the game is like, unless they feel drawn in by Premium benefits from the get-go then there isn't as much difference in choice. But once they open server transfers (next week or so I think they said) there'll hopefully be some flow from Valk/Ygg to Ymir if they wish at a later date. Or they can just start fresh.

Its just a shame bots ruined the free trial system. Then Ymir could of had a free trial for 1 month.
