Failure To Connect Glitch After Update

My Valkyrie client updated today and now won't connect when it was working perfectly fine last night so I assume it was something in the update. Is there anyway to fix it? I tried submitting a ticket with firefox and google chrome and it just stalls out and wont send the ticket and just shows the page as loading the entire time.

Is there anywhere that shows when and what servers are down? I only know that Thursdays are for it since I am new.

I think the servers were/are still down for maintenance.

Any idea when there back up ?

btw..We will also need to patch all these 3 exe in our RO folder for the 6 April's Launch. as can bee seen in these link www.playragnarok.com

I updated all three, and its still showing me the fail error so I assume they are still being worked on. Hmmm. Where does it tell me when the server is down and such?

me too, i can't connect any ragnarok client now.... since 6.30AM... im from malaysia......

I believe they said you only needed to update one of the three files, whichever you normally use, and you will be fine. I am also unable to log in and they don't say when they are coming back up so maybe it is a time zone difference. So I wonder if someone in the Pacific time zone can't log in either.

uhmm.. it says there that use the ragnarok.exe patch.. i updated all the patch (valkyrie.exe and renewal.exe)
i've done it (started the ragnarok.exe patch) but when i clicked the "start" button, nothing happens..
can anyone help me?

With me I go to log in, it takes forever then says it cant connect. x-x I don't know whats wrong with it.

mine is still messed up. it keeps saying Ragnarok.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.

Its wierd that when i choose a server it always says faild to connect but i see the server incresing of people. I guess more maintinance? or some glitch help me!

Have passed more than 15 hours and still the server in maintenance..... this is a serious delay in maintenance....
Same here too....still can't log in the game in my Valkyrie.

I'm pretty sure that iro still in maintenance...

There is no longer any server maintenance (until later today, normal thursday maint).

Alot of people have trouble patching, try reading up on some fixes mentioned here and there (http://forums.warppo...nect-to-server/). Also make sure that anything you do ro-related (patching, installing, playing) is done under "run as admin mode".

Also, we now connect via ragnarok.exe.
You should only run the valk client once, after that is patched, close that and run ragnarok.exe (also in admin mode), ragnarok.exe is the client everyone should now use to connect.

You're welcome.
I guess it won't hurt anyone to have a quick guide instead of having to run around tech/bug support to read up all scattered posts. They will put out a new client later tho.

Just found this on their main website (I never go there), they already beat you to it :( :

We have updated to VIP system and Brasilis on April 6th. There are 2 options available for patching correctly.

Regardless if you have freshly installed the October 2010 client, or have been playing for quite some time and patching every week, you will have the same patch methods.


Patching using the normal Patch Client:

  • Navigate to your Ragnarok installation folder,
  • Right click on the folder and make sure "Read-Only" is UN-CHECKED, then apply.
  • Enter the folder, and right click the "renewal.exe" and choose Run as Administrator
  • The Ragnarok.exe, ragexe.exe and the data.grf should all get updated to April 6th.
  • From now on Run "Ragnarok.exe" to patch and play RO.
Key points for the auto patch method: Patch is ~24mb, permissions are tricky as you are overwriting files. If the files dates aren't updated then you are not patched!


Patching using the Manual Patch Client:

  • Download the Manual Patch to your Hard Drive.
  • Navigate to your Ragnarok installation folder,
  • Right click on the folder and make sure "Read-Only" is UN-CHECKED, then apply.
  • Extract the Manual patch into the RO installation folder, allowing it to overwrite files.
  • From now on Run "Ragnarok.exe" to patch and play RO.
Don't forget to update your shortcuts to point to the Ragnarok.exe patch launcher!

In the next week or so a freshly made client will be made available that has VIP and Brasilis included. The small patch size was the reason we didn't make a fresh client yet.

Interesting that you say that. I guess we all learn differently.

For me, text/images are best, and video instructions are least useful.

Then again, i used to enjoy lectures in college, so maybe i'm not typical.

yes you're right but there's people that doesn't understand very well about informatic (Science computer)
