I haven't touched RO in quite a long time, pre-renewal in fact...and I was ecstatic to hear RO going pseudo-F2P. As I understand it, Ygg is opening up to everyone, while Ymir is remaining "premium" or what have you. My question is, can we expect the same sort of botting to occur on Ygg that has plagued Valk? Hell...I'm not even sure botting is much of an issue anymore...like I said I haven't played in a long while...

Botting is a big issue on Valk. Though they have done wide bannings and upped the amount of staff to monitor bot reports so the number went down a bit. But because they can easily recreate themselves and due to the totally free nature it does mean its a bit like chasing individual ants around an ant colony with no measures to stop the ants nest from reproducing. So there is still about 1000 bots I think or more during peak.

They're expecting Ygg to have a bot increase as they've stated they plan to increase the bot monitoring / report dealing team for Ygg after the changes have been fully implemented.

There was an offer to transfer for free from Ygg to Ymir in light of the changes. However you *just* missed them, they ended yesterday, but maybe you could appeal to staff anyway. But thats not to say Ygg won't have its own benefits worth staying for, every server has gone through a batpism of fire with bots at some point.

It all depends on the server population... There are many bots in Valk cause It's an pretty old server.. and also there are alot of players (Which could be potential customers... or so the botters would think)
Currently there are not that many players in Ygg.. so the chances are that if you do find a bot in there it would most likely be a player botting for levels, rather than a pack of rogue bots farming loots (Like you see in Valkyrie), but then again that's just a theory.

Well the market in Ygg is like a fragile seedling. Not as much stuff is widely available because of less players to hunt things. In my opinion that sounds like a goldmine to bots who are all about oversupplying stuff people want to get zeny. Zeny they can then sell to the players who have a slow time earning zeny due to slow/quiet market on Ygg. The bots themselves will also make it tougher for real players to earn zeny since they'll be selling 500 at undervalued prices of stuff they can only get 50 of. Whether that'll be the case though remains to be seen, its just a theory too.
