There are 2 in Prontera now. I don't feel like posting screen shots or reporting. Can we revert this past Wednesday's maintenance yet?

This is getting annoying.

There's also a spam bot in Payon on Ymir. Also reported but they are spreading.

Spammers taken care of for now by player power and warped to parts unknown - but they are going to be back. Please get this sorted GM's and dont let Ymir turn into a cess-pit of spammers and bots.

I saw a group of players that got rid of the two in Pront (a new one appeared by now but I'mma guess it's the same account), they came back in like 5 or so minutes.

Can we get those IP blocks again?

Two Spammers in prontera been there a good hour or so.

Also helped a new person to doi aco quest and passed two bots on the way. The gold seller lazy freee account kind.

These accounts dont give gravity any money (I can understand not banning a premium acc that buys 100$ a month of HE gums), they slow down servers creating lag, dont ever buy anything and they clearly upset new and old players.

Maybe they'll finally buckle down and find a tangible way of getting rid of them... But I still won't hold my breath :P

Maybe zeny sellers finally realized that there are no such thing as paywalls or restrictions to create charas on ymir. Hopefully the dev team isn't clueless about how to solve the problem and we can see a fix this thursday or before.

Aren't many of those zeny spammers watched over by the operators pretty often? Even if you teleported them or banned them, the operator would basically either remake or bwing the spammer bot back to town in a short time. They'll also find a way to bypass IP restrictions as well. So I don't see why we had this massive IP blocking recently. It seemed to do more harm than good for real players out there this past week.

I actually got banned in the account I sent the screenshots about one method to use the client and still bypass the restriction, but not banned in the other accounts I also used but didn't sent screenshots of them in my ticket. Moral of the story: reporting errors is the second fastest way to get banned =p

Well done Kad!!

I don't see why Kad got banned for showing how the client can be exploited. It's best avoiding unnecessary future abuse by other users the sooner it is made apparent to a GM/CM about said exploit even existing in the first place. Explaining the procedure to an official GM/CM and not telling everyone else beyond that should have been at least acceptable and overlooked, no?

I'm still wondering about that team they were supposed to hire solely for bot control. Surely a team wouldn't take too long to train considering how efficient Oda is at it when he's in-game? Heim mentioned them by saying they were under training, but afterwards stopped talking about them almost altogether.

Probably because they decided banning anyone who logged in during the first five minutes after maintenance was a good method for controlling bots. That happened directly after that new team went to work.

While I appreciated their aggressive approach, that was a huge screw up. It probably resulted in putting a lot of protocols in place that might not have been deemed necessary at first... And thus slowed everything down considerably. That's my best guess, anyway.

It would've been a great idea if they did it someone logging in consistently every x seconds during maintenance either for the duration or for an hour. A real player will usually give up after a few failed attempts and check the forums or a server status site, whereas a botter will probably leave the program up until they notice something is wrong. Though I'm assuming this would just be player-bots, the zeny sellers probably know exactly when maintenance is, and schedule their work around it.

It should be looked at on a case by case basis, not just a wide sweep of everyone who logs in during maintenance. It has potential to be a great bot fighting strategy, at least the way I'm looking at it. I, of course, could be very very wrong :P
