Just Getting Started

Just trying to decide what to start with while the updater is grinding.
I like the MMORPG's, but {sigh} sadly I am not what you call a great player.
I won't spend huge amount of money on this (or any) game, but i will probalby put a few bucks in occaisionally if I really enjoy it.
I will probably be on about 1 to 1.5 hours 3 or 4 days a week.
I'm not really into PvP.
I like to both solo and group.
Looking through the other posts, it looks like the easiest for a new player is the Turan/Templar/Tempest.
Any major disagreements with this?
I read on one of the posts that the Tempest has been or is going to be nerfed.
Is that correct?
I don't want to put a lot of time into it if so.
Anything else a noob I especially want to look out for or make sure I do?
Thanx in advance for your help.

I want to be able to help out a group some.
Solo PvE is also important for me because I often don't have the time to sit down and find a group then go do something that takes a lot of time with them.
I'm just not good enough for something really complex.
If you have to have a bunch of actions memorized, quickly switch targets, keep track of 14 things at once, etc... I will fail at it.
On the other hand I don't want something designed for a 9 year old.
I can handle more than just a click once and forget build.

you can also get aoe grind party easy and buff physical classes with dmg and speed buff and you can heal others a bit.
you also have quite good cc aoe skills
none of the classes but druid maybe are difficult, pve is pretty basic in this game

If you play on Hamy the PK enabled server im happy help you out. get u some gear, answer questions and help with the harder quests like getting your PB or what ever....
PK isnt that bad either - most dont do it. can only target ppl your lvl or higher. unless the person is red or purple (killer or in act of pk)
so if u low it fine u safe.
some places r pk free.

I dont know if you have already made your starting decision, and you didnt specify if you would prefer a caster or melee class. Since you mention Templar / Tempest though, I assume you would want a caster class. So, yes, Templar / Tempest is a good, easy going class. They are not hard to play, do not require over the top gear and will do well both solo and in parties, both in PvE and PvP. Especially, Tempests are among the best class for soloing and will always be in demand in parties / raids too.
I am also not sure which server you are going to choose (or have already chosen). The only difference is that Hammerine has PK enabled, but most of the time this is of minor importance and I doubt anyone would actually bother you with PKing these days... PvP (meaning battklefields) can be done from both servers.
As for spending real money in Requiem, if you decide to do so, I would suggest you start with buying a Premium Account subscription. It is the best value for money since it will help your character(s) in many ways, faster exp, more lant and drops, less penalty of death exp loss. Until you reach really high levels, I dont think you actually need to spend a single cent on anything else. Oh, and please dont listen to some people who keep writing bullcrap in these forums about the need to spend 1000s of $ to be "competent". They just have an axe to grind about their own grand failure and sheer incompetence. You can do fine and have fun like everyone else with the resources and gear you will find in the game.
Finally, if you are playing in Hammerine and need any assistance feel free to PM / message etc. Good luck!

well just a little tip...... if u wanna get something out of this game u need to prepare spending $$$$$
if u just want to hang out few hours a day to pass your time u can do it w/o spending money but 90% of the game now is mall items based thus require big investment in mall pts
and regarding classes.. well temp' & mystics are fastest lvlers in the game assuming know hat u'r doing
