If you could convince people to actually go to OD1 then yeah, it would be better. But for right now, camping ant eggs GUARANTEES near-constant exp. Going to OD1 alone guarantees you nothing. >:


I'm rather sure that OD1 and OD2 aren't neat options, currently, because there's not enough people to keep the great spawn, and IMO OD1 is better than OD2 since OD1 has more aggro foes to draw than OD2. I got better results by making my Lif circle around me.

I don't like Ant Hells because I'd have to deal with, let's say, sharing spots. And I feel very awkward doing this. I don't even know if it's better mannered than OD multispotting.

Err... just a question, How much EXP/hour do your homuns make at Ant Eggs? Also, during Pre-renewal OD2 was popular because of the experience or spawn?

I'm really not sure how much they made. I was pretty much afking there while doing something else so whatever they made while I was off doing something else, I was happy with it.

I see some camping OD1 on Ymir but it gets pretty sparse around them. Mostly because the monsters start to collect in pockets elsewhere on the map which is I guess why they like fixed spawns. I'll pass an AFKemist and walk 1 or 2 screens over and get mobbed by a big deathtrap of monsters lol. If there was an AFKemist at every couple of screens then maybe the spawn would spread between them. But then that would also affect mid-level players as its currently a very nice place to go to reach 2nd class job-change + first 2nd class job levels and the AI seems to have difficulty sometimes with being erratic and not going after monsters targeting other players. It doesn't bother me when the Homun comes over to me, I just move on and don't blame them. But perhaps a AFKemist every other screen in OD1 would make that awkward. So possibly low-mid level players would still get affected.

They should make a Homun Training Facility. Something like a dog obedience school xD

(OffTopic: Sure wish they had made mini robots for Blacksmiths to level with :Emo_15: )

I figured my Filir would 99 (went to bed when it was 98) at some point while I was sleeping. When I woke up, it was 99 (but obviously I don't know for how long). I just wanted to point out that this may be a possibility for people who are TRULY afking.

Well, for people still there with level 99 homunculus...
I figured my Filir would 99 (went to bed when it was 98) at some point while I was sleeping. When I woke up, it was 99 (but obviously I don't know for how long). I just wanted to point out that this may be a possibility for people who are TRULY afking.

I've also camped the Hydra Pool on Amatsu field when ant hell is too crowded- this isn't as good as ant eggs but it's pretty close.


Past 72 ant hell is so slow though, and it's the point where filir/vani can take on moscovia...

It's good for nobody to stay in anthelluntil the homun is 99 imo =x

It starves. My Filir was maxed out Loyal so I could afford to let it go all night without feeding. It was at Cordial when I woke up, though.

Well if people has so much problem about "AFKemist" taking leveling spots, then why won't someone make a leveling guide for Homuns to go to...

I know, I know pretty stupid, but it should help out most of the problem that lower leveled players are dealing with...
On that note, going from 1 - 44 is pretty much a cake walk, and should only take about 3 hours tops...

Dill, the OP is talking about alchs 99 with 99 homun. At that point there is NO reason for them to be there.

Well I agree with that, but the newer posters are talking about lower leveled characters not having enough maps to level on, which is bogus...

I guess I did mention a possible reason I had in mind, if this wasn't a possible reason I see nothing else.

"Now what I think, if they're still AFKing their homuns when they're already lvl99, I'm guessing they're "preparing" for the coming of the Homun S since the EXP gauge is still active for homunculi (it shows 99,999,999), so a 6% would be enough to get a lvl101 Homun S in one shot. I may be mistaken though."

If I were AFKing at low level maps (not considering Ant Hell at all), it would be only for the sake of my homuns, not me.

Homunculus do not get the same EXP as player classes. At lv 88 my homunculus still gets 0.1% from a single ant egg, which it can kill in two hits. Taking that same homunculus to Ice Dungeon and having it kill a Siroma will make it gain 0.4%, but it requires constant baby sitting to make sure it doesn't die, and I have to keep warping around to find more siromas, wheras ant eggs spawn instantly. Killing a Siroma also takes somewhere near 13 hits.

You do the math and tell me what's faster and more efficient. You know what? If you're a low level character, you should be fighting other monsters instead of being lazy and killing the ant eggs. How about Andres? Either way, leave the ant eggs for the Alchemists and their homunculus.

My homun is AI'd effectively to not kill steal, and tbh, co-op with the homunculus is only 'better' exp for myself, but not for the homun.

If you see a homunculus trainer who kill steals, they probably are using the default AI.

Having said that, a lot of people KS from alchemists. I usually don't afk when I go to and eggs, and I see all sorts of wizards and archers coming up and taking the whole egg cluster out with their AoE skills. Greedy!

Yeah thats true, the turret thingys? When I first heard about them I thought "Wow finally! Bit late though". But then I heard they're not impressive too. Certainly never seen a Mech using one :)
It would of been awesome if at the same time as the Homunculus system they added a Robot System. With little cute mechanical creatures or robots similar in design to Juperos monsters (though mech creatures would be more fun to me). Perhaps you could even hire them from the Kiel Hyre academy (with a free transport to Kiel Hyre from Geffen Blacksmith Guild like the free Izlude transport)! :Emo_15:

But it would mainly of helped pure forgers to level (though Homuns only level base, its better than nothing, and they can still assist in general like the tanking or decoy skills etc.). And well my pure forger turned into just a vend slave a looong time ago. And the first one on the Smith class to get a helper (turrets) don't even have new forge skills anyway. Just shows how long forgers have been forgotten by Gravity. :Emo_15:

Hmmm, well first of all, alchemists are completly responsable for theyr homuns Ai, so a ksing homun=ksing player, its reportable. second, love your homun, dont let them cry from hunger, i get my hart broken every time i see that. I got 4 alchemists, almost 5 now, gor every homun, i just love them, i never completly afk them just semi afk, so they never starve. Also everyone has to put a bit efort, the game is for all, and that makes everyone has rights to lvl at every spot, just share, also telling eggs are for alchemist, i could argue eggs are for wizzards whit spare card, i used to farm there pre renewal. But still i was not able to monopolize the egg spots, im nobody to keep a mob exclusivly for me, i can understand however, that if you have a lvl 10 merc left from old lucky boxes, you want to go ant eggs whit your newly transed char to get the first lvls fast, but that takes 30 mins, so ask for having a spot or maybe 2 for 30 mins, then give it to the next person, whit houns its the same, get a spot for 30-60 mins, or maybe inclusivly the 3 hours you can have your homun whit no loyalty loss and having no hunger, while you afk, but seriously what needs do you have to lvl fast, making other people not able to do the same?

Woudn't manholing them away count as skill abuse? Unless its not your chaser, then its not a problem /no1
