There is only a close option.
Having a minimize button on the launcher would be great.

There is a minimize button.... unless you are talking about the patcher launcher, then no there isn't and never will be.

Useless to have a minimize button there because I don't think ANYONE would keep that open for hours and hours.

if u wanna minimized when its patching just right click it on start bar thingamajig at bottom and hit minimize
