And yeah i revived it as the question is back up to date again... As the ragial owners currently have the "only" (?? - wouldnt suprise me if there are more people than just the owner) who have the advantage of seeing someone selling items for cheap/below average market prices 

 

Can we use a bot with the usage like the ragial bot.. for our own "collecting" data skills, is a very valid question to ask - since iRO have tolerated the ragial bot for so long - surely he/she shouldnt be the only one allowed to do this.

 

I don't think tolerated is a good word, as the entire community has benefited from the use of ragial since it's inception. They don't even ask us for a dime, at most they have a section where you donate if you want to. They upkeep the website through their own means. They have done so much good for the community as a whole that's it's just blatant disrespect to corner them against a wall as some sort of a villain. Hello????!!!!

People started asking valid questions and you're just going to be overly defensive.

 

Well tolerated is definitely not the correct term since they have been exempted. Since when has this been about not being grateful for ragial and to the person/people behind it? People are merely raising questions since the removal of a feature is clearly sketchy. If you can't say anything logical, leave the discussion to the adults.

Someone gave an entire community an absolutely FREE service for YEARS that EVERYONE used to their liking, and the owner himself quit truly playing ages ago... it's not even about being defensive.

 

You said "since when has this been about not being greatful for ragial". I'll tell you when, when people accuse the owner of using his own program to cheat, when he doesn't even play the game. YOU might have been raising a valid question, but not everyone did. You are speaking for everyone, and that's a big voice to have as there are so many diverse opinions in the thread. But you are right, i was partly memeing too and half-way trolling so i should definitely chill on that account. But i don't think i was being defensive at all.

And you're clearly missing the point. A main feature that people could be profit from was removed without any foreseeable reason. It was removed from access to public and most probably became accessible to only a few people. It's as simple as that.

The cheap section was actually useful on Classic though, since the max zeny trick doesn't exist there.  So that's unfortunate.  Have you tried contacting support@ragial.com to ask about it?

hmm i am quite interested to know too if we can ask permission to use bot same as the ragial one. (we actually have one, just need to be tailored fit to iRO)...

 

 

EDIT: And now the argument is that, these few people who have access to the so called cheap section deserves that advantage because they have been giving free service for years.. what the hell! I'm even quit doubtful if  the one still opening the bot program is the same player back then whom you said have quitted for years. Martyrs like that rarely exist or maybe extinct. It's logical to think that it has been passed down to some active players

No, i didn't miss the point i knew exactly what you were getting at and can see your point of view. I had a feeling it would be removed, not sure if it was removed for the same reasons a few others and I were complaining about or if it was pure coincidence. And the person who made the accusation took back what they said, you can go see the edit for yourself if you'd like. I'd link it but it's in a completely seperate thread. Pick your poison though, you either have really rude people manipulating prices to con people on a constant basis, or no cheap section? I liked the previous version of ragial better that included the cheap section but had a different way of marking prices. It was a lot harder in the past to manipulate prices the way you can now. All you need is 3 merchants, and a few hours of shifting items around and you can easily bump the overal avg of an item by a few 100m if you really wanted to on any given item provided not too many people were vending it at that given time. That is a concern that had really been irritating a lot of people (including myself) for some time now.

It just doesnt make sense why the section is removed; it totally make sense that a person (or persons) are getting a huge advantage by doing away with the cheap section for the public as the data is still being gathered by using bots.

 

The GM's gave ragial "permission" to run the bots for the free service that ragial.com / ragi.al provided, and to my knowledge it was with the condition that [they] wouldn't get advantage by running these bots. 

 

I assume that they still are going to leave the website running.. so removing the section because lets say they are done with running the website for free .. or they want to make more profit.. then its a normal thing to ask if players/people that are not affiliated with that website could run their own bots to check the markets...

 

So yeah.. *shakes fist*

How about bring down ragial once and for all? That wouldn't benefit anybody else yet it will remove the doubts on ya'll?

ROPD too. What's the point of being able to see characters on a RO account if you can hide it? The point is, there is not point for it to exist.
