Newbies are welcome on Ymir.
Finding parties at lowlevels is sparser these days on all servers I think because with Edens gear/turnins/quests and the new EXP curve the low level stages zoom by quite quickly now. So long as you use a Monster search database like this and stick to monsters at your level or above (by 15 levels) its very fast because you can get up to 100% - 140% exp per kill (and then with the extra exp from VIP benefits on top, even faster):

http://irowiki.org/w...y#Search_SystemYou could also just put up a chat stating your level and that you're looking for people to party with or friend in Edens which gets a lot of low-level thoroughfare. As well as high level now with the VIP buffer.
Drop by New Player section if you need any help:
http://forums.warppo...yer-strategies/I don't think Ymir is a lonely server, I mean its not Ygg (no offence Ygg)
As for VIP being worth it. Well I've played on Loki Premium -> Ymir Premium a long time, so I'm used to it. "Premium" meant you *HAD* to pay to play via subscription and VIP is basically the same (subscriptions), but just optional. But with even more benefits now (like the VIP buffer at Edens and the upcoming benefits which they will be gradually adding in future). I've always felt subscriptions are better value for money since the effects last all day every day for a whole month or beyond compared to Kafra Shop consumables that add up in cost day by day. And I like that now paying a subscription is becoming more valuable.
