Quick question: do unused skillpoints carry over when you switch jobs/class? For example, I am a thief right now but not all the thief skills are that great - if I switch to assassin with say 10 skillpoints unused, will I be able to use those points on assassin skills or will they be lost forever? Thanks in advance.

You won't be allowed to change jobs if you have any unused skill points.

Also, if you reset your character after job change, you won't be able to spend any points on second (or third) class job skills until you have spent the right amount of points on lower class jobs skills.

I see, thanks for answering. Is it wise to level thief to 50 for the extra points or should I just switch at 40? Any assassins wants to say whether they use envenom or steal regularly enough to spend another 10 levels?
