Would anyone be able to let me know what is the best way to make money on RO without having to make a Merchant? My goal is not to be urber rich, but to make enough for a few gears that I need/want for my Lord Knight. Example: Muramasa, Slotted armor, etc.

Play the game for some weeks. Loot stuff. Later MVP. Endless Tower.

There is no way to make money in RO without a merchant character, unless you want to lucky boxes in the kafra shop with real money and sell it for zeny, and even then, if you sell it without a merchant, you'll get less z for it.
You need a merchant in order to vend the items you find. Selling items via chatrooms, or by yelling in town generally gets you 20-50% less than if you vended the items. I can't tell you how much more money I've made by seeing someone PM me while i'm vending, asking for a lower price. I watch, I don't answer for about 30-60 minutes at least; 9 times out of 10, they'll have lost hope and bought the item!
Don't NPC anything without doing market research on it (ragial.com). There are a number of common drops that people have buying shops up for (ragial shows them too) - items that drop at a high rate, but still sell for a few grand each. If you count uncommon items (in the 5-20% drop area), elder branches (dropped by some plant-like monsters around lvl 90ish) are 30-50k each on Ymir (they're used for rune knight skills), and Mandragora Flowerpots (from Hermit Plant, ~10% rate - unfortunately it's a sparse spawn in an annoying dungeon - lvl 90ish, again) sell for 300k each! Or 150-200k if you sell to buy shops or by yelling in town.
Later on, it will become practical to make money MVPing (killing boss monsters). This is mostly for once you hit third job, or maybe as high trans.
But no matter what you do to get the zeny, you need a merchant to vend it. Not optional. When i've got my good computer running (motherboard is shot, in for repairs atm), I run at _least_ 3 vends every night. I'd been running 6 merchant accounts (some doing buy shops) lately.

I heard that we can get banned for running multiple clients on the same network. At least that's what rumors have been spreading on RO forums. Kinda scare to run a merchant while leveling my knight.
BUT, truly great tips by the way. Thanks.

That's only if you bot the multiple clients. There's nothing wrong with running multiple clients(Dual-clienting) if you're leaving a merchant overnight on your computer to sell stuff while playing on another account. As long as you're not botting it, of course.I heard that we can get banned for running multiple clients on the same network. At least that's what rumors have been spreading on RO forums.
