I really appreciate some of these off-time events. Talking about Medusa mostly. The experience gained from the turn-ins is pretty small to consider this like a huge leveling event or something, but it's nice to have something... to *do* while leveling, if that makes sense.

The neutral element monsters also help out quite a bit, since every class can hit them, and they don't exclude magic classes (like abyss) or exclude melee classes (like a ghost TI if we even had one).

I'd like it if there were a sort of... permanent version of this, not something that gives a huge amount of experience like the 15~20% that the earlier events gave per TI, but even just something that gave like 3% per TI would be nice. Rotate out the areas every week, etc.

Motivates people to level
Teaches people how to work in a group
Makes people better players as they can watch other people play and see what works and what doesn't

I mean, I know they do this a lot more than they used to, but I'm not sure why it needs to be an actual event? If anything, the Turn-In events were the way the game was meant to be played imo, soloing all the time teaches you nothing about the game and makes you a bitter old codge like most of the older players are.

I thought this thread was about turtle island turn ins at first. Which should be brought back cuz now i feel stupid owning a turtle hat.

Indeed. Turtle Island event was awesome. It's a good place for TI event for 70-120 if there are each quest for each turtle.

I'm still dreaming of turn ins made on harder monsters that don't die to someone looking mean at them :wub: . Something like that, I would agree that motivates fun parties, but I fear that when we have a bio 3 turn in event it will be like "There, triple spawn on bios, kill 200 lord knights and get an awesome 200k exp. Oh, non vip get 85% of the normal bio 3 exp" @@.


But yus, medusa turn in exp isn't superawesome to be removed. For me, medusa turn in is like a bit slower magma dungeon but that you can do on group.

not to mention you make mad money looting there. Pearls pearls pearls! mMMMMMmmm.

And don't even get me started on the increased harpy spawn. I make 90% of my income OCing harpy feather and talons along with whatever ale/cookie bags/gift boxes I get from my gear. So you can imagine how much I love the increased harpy spawn in this event.

I imagine it'd be hell for poor low lv non-VIP players who want to get through aldebaran though, or are doing quests in the area.

i never did dragon labs or TI events but i've heard only good things about them. Why not?

There fixed that for you. If they do put permanent turn ins in they need to either disable gwings completely or find some way to put a decent amount of cooldown time on them IN THE TURNIN PLACES.

Yeah, not all gwing parties KS and or loot, but the ones that do NOT are unfortunately the exception not the rule.There was one last night as I was just puttering around on my sura, they didn't KS or loot me but every time they saw me the AB with them buffed me with some sacrament <3

I think TI events should be permanent from LV 100-110, it gives necessary skills for people to do further leveling in harder dungeons. But I don't like the medusa map, TI maps are best where it is open instead of having turns every couple steps away. In AL3 people were able to get 3 TIs with 1 HeBM, but at medusa most of the time even with gwing I get 2 TIs with 1 HeBM most of the time.

I agree completely. The turn-in event was great for me to level a bit faster.

It depends on how they're done.

Abyss was basically hammering out high level characters in a short amount of time, and not necessarily good.

Medusa is about the same as a strong soloing character could get elsewhere, only a little more inclusive.

I don't mean the medusa map is great (I hate the map layout itself) but just saying that I think some form of the turn-in events should be made into a permanent aspect of the game, because like the others said "Turn-in event ends, time to stop leveling and go play something else."

I noticed you mentioned in some other threads that the turn-in events are bad. Do you have anything to support that other than personal unhappiness?

I do like the turnin events, but they don't need to be so massively plentiful and hax (like dragons) all the time. I must say I have liked Harpy and Medusa turnins a lot. Not as fun as the TI turnin event was (now that was just pure fun), but if they were made to be permanent turnins like how there were exp turnins pre-renewal (just the regular map, no increased spawn with the monsters still giving exp), I wouldn't mind having them for my low-level characters.

boring monsters on the turn ins. i'd like to see lots of different monsters on map, something like gl_cas02 for lvl 70-100.

I'd be cool if every week it was a different TI. For example one week could be Raydrics, the next week could be anolian, the week after could be Agav, and so forth. But If it were to cause constant extended maintenances, no thanks. Either way, I'd be fine with or without TI being always there

I agree, and not because I'm a Sera fan. Granted, I have only done two TI's in Medusas.. But it was fairly quick, and the experience is good enough to continue doing it, without it being too much. :wub:

Stuff like harpies and medusas are great for low level and are not game breaking. You can get faster exp elsewhere but it helps ppl without resources to level and make friends. Medusas however... they need to either police the KSing or disable gwings there. That kind of crappy environment will just drive ppl away.

The monster difficulty plays a good rule in making a turn in a success (little hp, nonlethal monster skills,...etc) and that after taking in account the experience gained. I liked both turn ins (medusas and harpies) but I am not fond of the medusa map structure, seems too small to me.

It is also occasionally fun when Tao Gunka spawns right in the middle of your party and everyone takes off 5 minutes to kill it.
