Best way to start to find your perfect class is to figure out what play style you like and what you want to do. Do you want to heal and buff your friends while they kill? Do you want to do the killing? Do you like huge AoEs? Do you like melee?
I agree...
@Siveria: better check iROwiki.org for more info of the classes... but if you already have chosen the game style/class u like, you can always ask here for help and tips... what server are you planning to join btw?

Unsure yet, Bascally I am looking for a decent class to play that doesn't cost a fortune in gear to be decent. I know to be the best its gonna cost ya but.. heh. As for playstyle, I don't wanna make a support char, well not a pure support like a priest etc anyway. So anything else just about is open. As I said looking for something thats easy to play.

you can start from being a thief (high flee) or a swordie (faster hp regen). an acolyte to monk is good too since they can heal themselves.
also, Eden gears are good too

don't u need to take a aco to job lv 50 before u go monk or else you aren't as effective or something?

Reason it's important to have all 50 and 70 job points so that you have the best flexibility in your build. Plus you do get stat bonuses from job levels as well.
Yeah just worried cuz I did that on a pvt server, and well even though it was x3 or 4 exp, it still took a long ass time for the last 10 job levels. Still dunno what to go with though XD. Am Kinda thinking mage, since I could just go to the map with those Geographer flowers with firebolt. Monk sounds ok but going to jlv 50 as a battle acolyte is going to be painful I just know it.

i dont think you can camp in one area and power level off of a higher leveled monster without your damage sucking or you missing
Well with the geo's they don't move, but they have a decently ranged melee attack, and also at low levels if 2 are side by side u won't kill them, they tend to heal each other (but not themselves). I usually would hunt them around base lv 20-25 or so on a mage till 2nd job. Might not be the fastest exp, but its fairly safe.

there are mantis in the geo maps that can kill you easily. also, you will have a exp penalty if you level more than 15 levels higher your range. http://rode-r.doddle...om/viewpage/d/3

Rogues are a versatile and interesting class overall, being able to go places with hide and gather items with their stealing skills, which is important early game. They are strong one-on-one and can mob with sightless mind. They also expose you to the fundamentals of a lot of different classes as they can use a variety of different weapons including bows and magic. You will also be able to fool around with intimidate to copy other skills and see what sort of character you might like to try next if you get bored of your rogue.
do NOT make the mistake of playing assassin as your first character. It seems good at first, but then it starts to go downhill the moment you reach higher levels.
