Do I happen to have to obtain these items for original hairstyle as well? And does it carry over trancending?

Your hair stays the same until you manually change it again yourself. Not sure what you mean by original; if you're asking if you can use something like an undo button... no.

There are 3 options:
Alberta town: randomly changes your hair at the cost of 200k zeny/attempt
Alberta building: I don't think you need the Kafra Shop new style coupon for this NPC, but you do need the items.
Lighthalzen: Has the 4 newer hairstyles. You do need the items & coupon for this.

edit: I'm assuming you're on Valk. If you're on Ymir (or VIP, I dunno with the new changes), you don't need the coupon.

The NPC in Lighthalzen also has the 4 old hairstyles that the lady in Alberta does not have. You need a coupon to get them, as well.
