ok
im lvling up my sader now and i want to start planning ahead with what to do after i trans.

I really just want to know what kind of royal guard i can make. When i played before (on a private server), i used a martyrs reckoning/ rapid smiting build, so i would like a similar playstyle

i read the stickied thread, but that seemed to be all about one type of royal guard. But i dunno, its still a little confusing cause i keep forgetting what everything does, that and renewal.

basically i want it to be good in woe and pvp, but not a pain to lvl, if possible.


also i need a little help with what equipment to start getting
i quit about the time that nameless island came out. so i dont know much about anything that came out after and if it outclasses any of the old stuff.
that and i really just dont know what in general it needs.
but some stuff i know (like raydric card?)

i dont have the most money at the moment, but im starting to save early so hopefully i can afford the decent stuff when i need it. so dont be afraid to suggest gear that will cost like 50 mil or something. just nothing super outrageous.

If you have no gears do the eden group quests for basic gears. Use holy cross for fast levelling. Decent weapon is hellfire / spectral spear which are reasonably cheap. A rideword hat[1] will help you from now to 150 as royal guard. In the long term think of investing in a moonie dagger for when you turn royal guard for reflect levelling (requires a kahii linker spouse on another account).

With renewal, MR sucks now.

i have the eden gears, i was just wondering if there was any other good armor

i saw a cheap rideword hat today, but i didnt have the money, and after i had sold my phen card, it was gone
so im gonna wait a bit to see if i can get it for relatively cheap again

also what card would be good in it?

Royal Guard isn't as complicated as paladin once was, an offensive RG is just a spear RG. The only confusion people have with them is they don't look at the skill tree and assume you can get every single last skill -.-
Note that Holy Cross doubles in damage with a 2hand Spear.
For offensive pvp look up inspiration and exceed break.

im still not sure which one im gonna get

but if i decide early enough i should be able to switch what build im going for without changing my current stats, but if i do have to change them, i have 100 kp to drop on a reset stone
and swordies skills are pretty much the same with every build it seem

You might have to pick up a neuralizer when you start leveling as an RG. I know that I'm going to have to get 2 for when I hit 99/70 and change to RG and again at 120 when reflect leveling becomes a chore.

You're probably going to want to follow the same build that you did as a Sader and get your HC up to 10 (if you want to spare yourself having to get 2 neurals just take HC to 6 [the pre req for GC which at 5 is the pre req for Genesis Ray which at 4 is the pre req for Inspiration which is basically our activate god mode skill) get your Spear Mastery and Spear Quicken to 10 and then pick up the pre reqs to get Defending Aura 5 (another god like skill that reduces our damage from ranged attacks by 80%). Once you get to RG you should be able to pick up all the skills that you need to get Reflect Damage which will basically carry you from level 101 (or at whatever level you are when your job level gets you to the point of having enough points to get RD 5) to around 120 when you have to make a choice of continuing along the path of having some skills that are needed to level now subverted or using a neuralizer and getting all those skills that you need (all the ones to get Over Branding, Genesis, Shield Spell, Inspiration, 1 point of banding [lol], Banishing point, Pin Point Attack, etc) maxed out for PvP, WoE, MVP, and PvE.

An end game properly geared (all +7-+9 uber reduction) RG with the Over Brand skill setup (especially with Shield Spell, PPA, Defending, and above all Inspiration) can be some of the most difficult and ridiculous things to fight against and take on mobs with ease (They can solo MVP as well if you gear yourself right, but MVPing in a group is also really easy).

You'll reflect level from around 101-103 up to around 120.

You'll need: +0 or more preferably +9 Rideword Hat [1], Moonlight Dagger, +4 or higher Nydhoggur's Shadow Garb, and anything else that will stack +SP and +HP.

As for the other slots, it doesn't matter as much. Mid can be anything, lower can be anything, armor you might want to use an Earth Deleter card in something (stops natural sp regen but gives 10sp for every mob you kill) shield can be pretty much anything (if your nyd doesn't have a ray in it, you might want to get a thara in your shield maybe or an enchanted peach tree). Feet? Sohee +15% max sp. Accessories, Ring of Fire Lord is good, but this stuff doesn't need as much attention as the stuff listed above

The rideword and the nyd are fairly all purpose leveling gear. The moonie is specifically for this RD leveling... WoE and PvP needs more +% to reduction and all that jazz.

what would be good to lvl on?
you mentioned thara, so a demi human monster? or would that just to be ready for pvp?
