Nightmare used to be nice, but with Deep Sleep has kind of lost its purpose.

Gemini is pretty good for status resists if you have the proper stats.

How does the Vanberk card work exactly? is it a chance for 100% critical for 5 seconds or? I wouldn't put that in my Snake head hat since that would mess with the double attack.

Ask whats a good card for general use for ALL classes
States vanberk card
mfw vanberk only benefits str
mfw str is for melees
mfw str based melees only account for 1/3 of the classes

i would say the proc rate of vanberk is like 0.5-1% without reference, enough to go off quite a bit on an atk speed char. most of the time the best head gear card for multi purpose is either vanberk or isilla. IMO don't even bother with 80sp that sort of increase has very few benefits and is not that useful once you get higher level. General purpose is kinda not really a great way to go. Most of the time you need two sets of gear one for the spell casters and one for the melee.
Hmm I say +30 flee on isilla card, then its only when it procs after you do a magic attack.. which is useless unless your a mage lol.
Most of my chars aren't mages, I got a monk, Rogue, dancer, alchemist, prob gonna make a rune knight too.

It's actually the other way...double attack over-rules critz
so when vanberk proc, you might still have all double attack for full 5 secs without any crit
(if you get double attack in a row for 5 sec)
and within that 5 seconds, any attack which is not double attack will turn into crit
I bought one for my stalker and doesn't feel as good as other non-double attack char

The chance to Double Attack has priority over the chance to crit, but DA chance is capped at 50% (for Thief classes, with DA10; 25% for the others with a Snake Hat). If that chance doesn't proc while the Vanberk effect is active, your attacks will be crits.
Inversely, even if Vanberk is active, DA can still happen.

every weapon can do crits, regardless of other gear. double attack DOES override vanberk though. Vanberk is +100 crit, as opposed to 100% crit. difference is high luk enemies will avoid some. So putting vanberk in snake hat is quite a nice combo unless you already have 100 crit.
As for general purpose, yeah +SP gear, arc angeling, or the ele resist ones (leaf cat, leib, etc) can be nice. carat if you can make +9.

well it happens to me serveral times that during the 5 sec I only have 1 crit for my chaser
and rest of them are all DA....
so yes DA over Crit (I have like 9 DA and only 1 crit within 5s in the above example)
which make think what a waste of the card for chaser

think of it as x% chance to get 50% crit on thief classes
Cool I was just worried about the Vanberk crit proc canceling out my 25% chance to double attack on my monk when it procs. Gonna go get my hands on one.. I hope you guys are right lol.

Leib Olamaiwhatever if you're into WoE, SP card if you're not (Incubus, Carat, Blue Acidus, Willow)
Wait why leib olmei (10% fire reduction) for woe? Since the main reason ppl wear fire armor in woe is to reduce dragons breath and only elemental armor reduces it right? Thus other classes will be using water endow to gain elemental advantage. Did you mean leaf cat instead (10% water reduction)?

Using a lot of water reduction in combination with fire armor is a nice combo so leaf cat works well into that.

Were you using Katar's? if so that may be why they already double attack (the left hit).; Hmm they need to up the proc rate on Vanberk card its way to low, even with 185 aspd it rarely ever procs.
