Hello. I recently got back at RO and started playing on Valkyrie server. Since I was always a fan of Gunslingers, I made one, and on one of my Orc Dungeon 2 leveling sprees managed to get my hands on an Orc Archer Bow. With that, I've got around 20M zeny to burn right now, and I was wondering whether this would be enough to get me started on a Battle Alchemist on Renewal. Not sure how leveling is for these guys, but I'd be thankful if I could get some tips regarding this like, how they've been leveling nowadays and what piece of equipment would be important to actually get the thing going. Take in mind that, for now, I'm not thinking about focusing on PvP or WoE at all, so up a pure PvM build is what I have in mind here.

Also, in the chance that the money is nowhere near enough, what class could be a good way to reach trans relatively fast while, well, not having absurd costs to maintain? I swear after the game changed the whole thing is a like a new world for me, haha.

Everything* can trans without crazy gear now, thanks to the exp curving changes and the Eden Group equipment quests, which give you mediocre-but-usable gear, and the changes that nerfed +% damage cards (so you nolonger need those expensive 4x 20% carded weapons, one for every map).

Everything will of course _want_ more than 20m in gear to level with, though ;-) The biggest early purchase is likely going to be the immune garment... not sure how much they are on valk, but probably over 20m, even for a used one in an "old" garment. Also, renewal is more potion-intensive IMO, particularly as you get higher up, so plan to spend more than you expected on potions.

As an aside, there's never such a thing as "enough" gear until you've run out of slots to equip multi-billion-zeny pieces of gear on. It's hard to say how much gear a character "needs", because your standards depend on what resources you have.



*Everything except expanded classes like gunslinger, which have no third job or trans class, and can't really do anything useful late-game.

Thanks for the reply. I see, so I guess I should just make do with the Eden equip and go with the pots (plus probable expense with Mammo at times) and try to get a Raydric carded Garment, huh? Was checking the prices a while ago, seems like they're around 40M on a Muffler, so I guess I'll have to either luck out again or get myself farming stuff to sell, haha.

Also, still related, with the advent of Renewal should I be concentrating more on VIT or AGI as a defensive stat? I'm not sure how reliable flee would be, in particular on an Alchie, but I don't really mind ctrl+clicking stuff. Had my good days of doing so at Bathories haha.
