I'm planning my skill build ahead of time but it will likely be a hybrid type for RK. I'm not too sure once I hit LK if I should A) Get Clashing Spiral first or B)Go for the Sword skill tree. I guess it would depend if I have the gear/weapons for each although I know I can use swords for CS.

Another question I have when I eventually get to RK is about Death Bound would there be any point to maxing it? I mean the damage amp is cool but you do take dmg in return seems like suicide but fun. Also would it be wise to get Rune Mastery and Enchant blade first?

Depends on your build. If you go int-heavy as LK, just get CS ASAP, and wear rideword hat (+9 if you can, with nyd mant if you can get one), and just 1-shot everything with spiral from the moment you max spiral to lvl 120 RK - Spiral is an absolutely godly skill, particularly in the under 120 range, 1-shots everything up to lvl 125ish, and with rideword hat on, it recharges your SP often enough that you don't usually run out (obvs, you bring some blues in event of bad luck w/rideword).

Death bound, I have honestly never seen anyone use deathbound successfully. Very tricky to time.

But, any decent attack that you deathbound will kill the attacker, even at level 4.

So not worth precious RK skill points on.

Hmm I suppose I could try a build that has more int but I was thinking of still going hybrid lol I might put some points into str or int once I hit 70agi and 70 dex first. Only 10 job level away from LK!

I went to revise my skill build but I realized I forgot to get 1 point of Cavalier Mastery for Dragon Training lol The final five skill points I can choose to use are 5 Parrying or 5 Traumatic Blow not sure what's better since I'm going for a Hybrid on this guy (possible chance to respec Hundred Spears in the future if that skill gets buffed/fixed/less annoying sound etc.)

I'm sure parrying is decent for ctrl clicking things if I get bored of CSing stuff to death. Although Traumatic Blow seems interesting because of the Bleeding effect but I'm not sure how useful that is.

Don't bother in getting traumatic blow, with those 5 points just max parry to 10. Traumatic blow will traumatize you if you get it cuz it sucks.

If you're going hybrid RK you must up your stat in the way you're planning to level your RK for example: If you plan to dragon breath level till 150 max int and vit to whatever is your final build for those stat first, If you plan to go BB+IB get the stats that effects mostly like str vit agi dex and so on.

Wouldn't worry too much about str though, not enough about it to get 100 early on.
I've got 50 base str at lv92 and I BB things just fine.
Even if I had 100 base str I doubt I would be one shotting kobolds.

IMO just make sure you have some int and vit when you start taking dragon breath, supposedly its pretty boss for leveling, though I've heard mixed things about its damage.
As far as I know though dragon riding and dragon breath are what most people go for first as a RK unless someone can tell me otherwise

As for CS leveling, that gets pretty old pretty fast.
It may one shot everything up to lv120 easily, but I think I would want to kill myself by lv120 doing that.
Its possible, just boring.

Hmm I guess I will get parrying then as for stats:
~50 str atm, 76 agi maybe put it at 77 base, vit 50, ~30 int, 80 dex, no luk atm

I'm still using my full morrigan set but I'll need to switch over to something else later on.

As for CSing stuff to death I can tell you its extremely boring but its useful for killing stuff that has a lot of HP and for situations where I don't have an elemental weapon. I think I should've grabbed BB off the start lol

Finally changed to Rune Knight the job test was pretty fun!

Anyways how should I go about doing my skills? I will be going the IB path for a Hybrid RK. I kind of want to get Enchant blade early on not too sure on dragon training since I know that DB won't be good until I have a decent HP/SP pool. Also should rune mastery be maxed out right away or last? I know the materials for that consist of a rune and elder branch and then whatever is needed to make the other runes.
