Just some few words: "Gender. Change. Is. Expensive." [And pointless, even more if you main with bards or dancers.]

Okay, we can always "pretend" we are married, and tell all our friends and guildmembers about that. We will just lack the skills though. It is fun, but it would be better if we could make it "official".

But they don't liek it, so whatever.

Oh, sure of that? You don't even seem to know what those skills do then. Marriage grants the same exact skills (the SP and HP sharing ones and the teleport one) to male and female. There's no extra benefit, marriage between two people of the same gender would grant the same exact advantages right know if they only allowed the marriage without touchiing anything else.

Those would be considered advantages (which IS what he said) as well as the "Ka" buffs of linkers to spouses. So basically you agreed with the person you quoted while trying to disagree with him, lol.

way to not read a post.

Are you serious?

Marriage gives specific advantages.

If same-sex marriage was enabled, it would grant EXACTLY THE SAME advantages.

Oh the irony of telling others they didn't read the post :D

"From a balance standpoint though it can be problematic since getting married in RO *does* have actual in game benefits, and some of them are pretty damn good."

Krispin said enabling same-sex marriage causes a balancing issue. Me and Darkitow are saying it does not.

What am I missing there?

I have a few questions I wanted to asked, but couldn't make it to the live Q&A. I hope Heimdallr can still answer them for me.

1) What is the possibilities of implementing a KVM badge to BG conversion or vice versa?
2) Will there ever be an option for users to change KVM items of equal value?
3) I heard that kRO has already implemented an NPC that will remove cards from gears by chance. Will iRO get a similar service anytime soon?

Thank you.

I know everyone would love to have same sex marriage, but I am very interested in finding the answer to the above questions :D

So, then being able to marry with someone of the same gender is unbalancing, but it isn't when you marry with someone of the opposite? That statement seems so smart.

Ka- spells and other things has nothing to do with the gender. A couple of a male Sorcerer and a female Soul Linker is going to do exactly the same than a couple of those jobs but same gender. With the excewption of Bards and Dancers, gender only means a different sprite. And I don't see what unbalancing advantage would have a couple of two bards or two dancers, as they can't ensemble together and their 3rd job skills don't have gender restrictions.

Don't take me wrong, yeah, same-gender marriage would mean more possibilities to use the advantages of the marriage system, but do you honestly think that whoever whants to use those advantages won't just do the characters accordingly? If you wanna do a Royal Guard now and use Ka-spells, nothing stops you from using one of your 4 accounts to make an opposite gender SL for that. I actually did that for my Sage. I fail to see yet why is it bad to let same-gender couples to marry.

Now, try to explain why would that be umbalancing, and I mean, like a real explanation, not a "wow u didnt read teh post u suck".
