I was really bored so I decided to calculate the distribution of level 150s on Ymir. I was interested in hearing everyone's take on it (assumptions, opinions, suggestions on how to even classes, etc.)

As of 6/7/11:
Arch Bishop : 39 (10%)
Genetic: 37 (10%)
GX: 21 (5%)
Maestro: 15 (4%)
Mechanic: 11 (3%)
Ranger: 17 (4%)
RG: 60 (16%)
RK: 31 (8%)
Chaser: 37 (10%)
Sorcerer: 29 (8%)
Sura: 63 (16%)
Wanderer: 8 (2%)
Warlock: 15 (4%)
TOTAL: 383

3-1: 134
3-2: 249



A bit more specific...
Swordsman: 91 (66% RG)... 24% of total
Acolyte: 102 (62% suras)... 27% of total
Thief: 58 (64% chasers)... 15% of total
Merchant: 48 (77% genetic)... 13% of total
Mage: 44 (66% sorcerers)... 11% of total
Archer: 40 (58% performers)... 10% of total



What was the weirdest thing to me was the number of ABs that were 150 (10% of total). It might just be because the number of people who have priests is a lot greater than other classes. That's the only class that seemed weird given how much they suck in renewal.
Other sucky classes (ranger, mechanic, warlock, performers) all fell below 6% of the totals.

You forget Sorcerers in the sucky class list, and i think you are right, most of the people dont use those chars because is not worth the time using them of course.

WoW RGs have almost caught up to Suras. Who'd have guessed those classes would have the most 150's....

The ABs just want sacrament... so by the time we get that we are already almost 150 so might as well go from there...

I felt bad for gXes. Theres only 33 level 150s on ymir and valk combined.

Lock, Ranger, and Mech all got the shaft in Renewal, so it's no surprise that they're 25% of the classes, but 11% of the players... half of what it would be with even distribution.

Then there's RG and Sura, which are 16% of the classes, but 32% of the players... twice what it should be with even distribution, and a 4:1 ratio vs the Lock, Ranger, and Mech. This is also not surprising with current balance.

The only one that really surprises me here is AB, but as has been already said, that's likely simply due to the sheer number of them that existed before Renewal hit.

I hope 13.3 makes things a lot more even.

Uh its called breaking 3 types of armor/weapons with 50% chance at 190 aspd while doing 15-25k per attack.

What would be interesting would be to compare it to the breakdown on 99/70 (pre-renewal) to see if there's been significant shifts.

As for RGs being up there with Suras, I'd have to check the top 10 but I think there were quite a few RGs in it, so it hardly is a surprise.

If that logic holds, GX should be well above what it is now considering they Sinx was the most played class in pre-renewal next to priests except on Valkyie where Rogues came out on top. I wonder why....

You should make this pie chart in order from smallest to largest, it would be easier to read. You'd also find that RGs and Suras are a very large chunk of the whole pie (123 which is almost as much as the 2:1s combined, or 123/383 = 32% of the server).

FYI, to someone who mentioned it, Suras actually had to catch up and now seem to have passed RGs. Back in February, the number of RGs outnumbered everybody.

@ the surprise at the amount of priests. This wasn't a surprise to me even with ABs generally sucking. Everyone owns a priest, not everyone is as diverse in the rest of the characters on their account(s). ROPD before Renewal always showed that the largest class concentration was priest.

As for ways to balance things...I think everyone has given their 2 cents about how to do it. The ball is clearly in kROs hands until we get this first wave of adjustments in a month or two.

Not only people who play bishops level bishops. Bishops can be used as slaves for much more purposes than for example, Gx, so it isn't surprising for me xP. Large concentration of people with priests + perfect alt/slavechara.

Or seal 2... I see about 5 bishops (same ppl) every time it rolls just cranking out the exp.

Leveling a bishop any other way is so lame. X_x I thought 10-15% per HE during a 2x exp event at 145 in a 2 way share party was fast. =/
