Planning to use Katars/Daggers for increased attack speed (and less points in Quick Attack) as opposed to swords. It's been a while since I played and I'm not good at reading calculators, so I'd appreciate an effective skill/DNA build for a low-funding Katar Assassin.

Also, which is better for PvP/PvM, Forward Dash + DNA, or Retreat + DNA? I'm not wasting skills/DNA on BOTH of them, it's gonna be one or the other. No Assassin needs that much mobility.

I mean I'm planning on using the Sin weapons that are weaker but faster than dual swords. I think they're called Claws.

I looked at one calc build, but it said to take BOTH Forward Dash and Repeat with their DNA's, and I only want to take one. NO Rogue needs to be darting around that freaking much.

well, that's an assumption you're making about what's globally best for sins to prize for character traits/skills. I, and others, would disagree.

don't use claws. they're slightly better dmg for skillspamming so I hear, but you have a buff called fortitude that, like most armor sets you'll encounter, will buff your phys crit rate. It's a shame not to maximize that dmg by using duals.

I don't understand. Why does a Rogue need to be using both FD and Retreat every 5 seconds in PvP? THey don't need to me moving around THAT FRIGGIN MUCH just to make kills.

just an example

as u said the focus will be on a low-funding assassin, which most likely means u will be low on hp/def/resistance. investing in both dnas will help u make ur getaway easier (talking mass pvp ofc). also good for chasing after kiting casters or wannabe EA dot-and-run SRs and slt.

also drop those katars unless u just wanna be special. the aspd superiority over duals is a nonfactor. what else u gonna spend that extra skill point on. fighting will?

I only used the FD dna when I played 65 foc.

Actually, yes, I always max Fighting Will for the accuracy.

And I don't plan on going any higher than 49 with my sin.

on topic: i only used 5 dna on fd on 65 and 66+ too

in S2 there is no good reason to use claws.

they give more crit rate then duals and in s1 that was great.
but now there are many ways to increase the crit rate and the claw crit bonus and easily be replaced.

you only lose dmg and a lil bit more attackspeed is easy to get with quickattack.
