Can anyone tell me how the ranking semesters run?

How long is each Semester?
When will the next semester start?

Can anyone confirm my assumption? I kind of found out it will be sometime between July 7th and July 21st based on the last two resets.

1st Reset) 06-Jan-2011
2nd Reset) 14-Apr-2011 (April 7th would have been 3 months, April 14th was 98 days)
3rd Reset) 21-Jul-2011? (This is Apr-14 + 98 days, Apr-14 + 3 months = July-14)

They put in VIP system and other major updates on Apr-7 so if it was supposed to go in on this date and they delayed it, then its possible Jul-7 will be the date for the next reset.

I did a further calculation and it seems they did delay the second reset for the year (14-Apr-2011). I added 91days (07-Apr-11 minus 06-Jan-11) cumulatively through the year and this was the results:

1st Reset) 06-Jan-2011
2nd Reset) 07-Apr-2011
3rd Reset) 07-Jul-2011
4th Reset) 06-Oct-2011

1st Reset) 05-Jan-2012

This just seems more logical. Can anyone give a definite date or any additional information? I just dug up the old patch notes and ran a spread sheet to get this information.

Since the very first one at merge, the resets happened every 4 months after that. Except for the last one, that one came a couple weeks earlier than the 4th month mark.

To keep things consistent, I would expect the next one to occur in August, but maybe they'll decide to do it earlier again.

Hmm, they talk about it as quarters so, by that it would have to be every 3 months.

05-July should be the next one if they change maintenance to tuesday by then

It will be the 7th if they are still on Thursdays by then but at the Q&A session it was mentioned they will be changed to Tuesdays soon, so maybe the 5th if it gets changed by then.

People refer to them as quarters, though the resets havn't been entirely consistant.

My Dates may be slightly off by a day or 2. But I've recorded alchemist resets on the following days since I was keeping a rough track of my own points.

Seems to me they first started out with trimesters, and now slowly switching it to quarters.

Thank you very much Heim for giving us some feedback on this.

I believe Nuhasna is correct and I believe that Wanderer has the reason why Heim said "It should be 1st maintenance in July, we will reset the pot rankings". I also agree with Heim not giving further details because people will want to relentlessly hold them to their word and in the end it is just a game. There is going to be no life changing events caused by some alteration to when the points are reset.
