It does. Thieves doesn't even need to try to attempt picking the lock. The moment you click the drawer you already picked it. (For no thief classes, they're given the option to attempt to pick it or give up.)Kafra thing probably wasn't ready or an approved idea yet. Things like that happen.
As for the lock pick, you can do it with full gear, just seems to take some tries. I did it first shot on my Rogue though, so maybe it favors Thief classes?

The mystery of not knowing what is going to happen next is such a great thing.

Is this your first anniversary? Was the anniversary event ever about exp? No. All the adversary events have been about story and maybe a headgear surprise.

Edit: i Am sort of remembering at some point that dragons was going on for over a month pre renewal and it was coinciding with the anniversary event.

What I was hoping for is more lower headgears. There was one that I really liked, it was a drooping kitten in mouth or something. I thought that was original and totally cute. I don't remember what it did, but it didn't get chosen...
How do you know that?
Winners haven't been announced.
This is the first of the headgears that got choosen.
I think it's very cute and VERY well done as sprite, regarding the fact that the concept only was a drawing. The sprite is very truth to that drawing.
The Headgear design event was more about the look of the headgears than the actual stats. So I won't complain about them.
It's a nice headgear, it's not to huge or extreme shiny, it's just nice, sweet and fit's a lot of characters in my opinion.
So I think it's a very good choice.
And again: It's just the first of the february contest.

I'm not hating on how it looks. Like most of the zodiac headgears, they look nice. But it's just another sort of meh headgear.
And I PMed the creator of the kitten in mouth and she said that it wasn't chosen.

Previous events have included nile rose accessory, baseball cap (+30% exp), I THINK one anniversary coincided/overlapped w/ talk like a pirate day and included +% exp headgears (pirate eyepatch+pirate dagger, with the dagger being the anniversary headgear), one anniversrry was hugel minigames which was a powerleveling event. etc. Lots of exp and non-story quest events.
One fond memory is the anniversary where they gave out Party Hats with +1 to all stats, and then mercilessly killed the entire crowd around the Novice Elf NPC with Marine Spheres. Seems we've come a long way since then.

My guildee (a GC sader) a first timer loves that Yggdrasil Hat. He's the first one who did it in my guild.
I think new players would appreciate this more than some of the old ones its better than the Eden Hat ^^.
My chars will keep this as a token and so will everyone who wants too.
Kudos to Channa

The blue gemstone part. You don't need to be one Acolyte class. But have heal instead. [Vitata Card / Rudra Bow anyone?]
The same thing on the yellow gemstone part. You need to have Lex Divina. So low-job priests without Lex Divina will need to pay the gems.
I totally loved the quest. The Mi Gao hunting, the [very very hard] monkey evading [I had to bring my wanderer to save my priestess], then the dream part in Old Morroc... Totally lovely.
The quest just had a drawback. The end of the quest. I thought my "talents" [Even hating to wear a bow, I was one archer] would be used to quick finish one part of the quest. I don't know... I did not liked the ending.
Maybe we could do some exploring in Old Payon directly related to the quest, not just one "Congratulations, you finished the quest" [Yes, I was expecting for more hunting, maybe something related to the old Payon Cave...]
Except for this ending, the quest was perfect. The EXP could also be splitted, like.
[Bug Report]
It's possible to skip the red gemstone part. Some of the EXP could be put there, some of the EXP could also be put in the Lex Divina part, some in the drawer and then the most part in the end.
[Note: I did not say "the quest giving more exp", but "the exp from the quest could be splitted in these parts]
I want more story quests. Please~
All the story quests I played until now were great. [St.Patrick quest, Mother's day (I was expecting for a headgear here |: ) and this one.] Also. I mean a reason to use this hat somewhere in the event. Or maybe making this hat being a requirement to another story quest, giving another headgear~~~~~~ ^_^

Seeing old Payon was pretty cool. I was around when it was still normal Payon, but I couldn't really remember what it looked like. Much easier to navigate than the new Payon.
---
On a side note I see that people are camping the wootan shooter spawn of the quest. I'm surprised I haven't seen any rage threads about it. Maybe it's not that great exp... I dunno.

They are good exp
But its less risky for lower level players to do the Rune part.
Quite another Win-Win situation imo

This quest was pretty well done. Mini map markings, warps to next steps, etc made it flow well. The only "ugh" moment in the quest really was hunting 60 mi gao and 40 mantis. Spawn should be increased, or requirement lowered. Also Mi Gao should be agressive, if they're supposed to be a "threat" to the workers.

They were great exp. Nobody commented because nobody wanted it removed. Now they are off and with way less spawn around the town. [It could be the same spawn as before, but not in a camping spot, to prevent Jack Frost KSers. I hate Jack Frost because it was made to KS people, not to level~~~~~/omg]
I bought a Am Mut card and toasting my silver arrows, I could get 1500 base / 3000 job in my lv112(3) Wanderer. ^_^
