Hi everybody,
I just about started trying this out since the hat came out. This setup is basically for afking in orc dungeon. I hope I don't need to explain what the gear does or how it works.

Posted Image

I'd just post this here cos over the past month I've gotten enough death threats and abusive language from players who don't know any better, and either decide to cuss at me, report me, drop monsters or poly them. That's counting the silly rk who doesn't know how to poly quickly, and the afking genetic with ifrit rings, who both tried to poly me tonight.

I've honestly had enough of this nonsense so I'd like to clear this up once and for all. I'm not a bot, and this is clearly stuff u can get in game. If this is considered abuse, please get a gm and tell me now ^^ (if that's the case, please ban all the reflect royal guards and afking alchemists along at the same time)

Oh I've seen you around. I always thought you were tanking for some lowbie.

If the alchemists can do it I don't see why you can't.

Sry, I have no clue. But, w/e. If you're not botting then you're not botting.

A lot of people used to do this when AFKing in OD was popular. If the spawn isn't too slow for you, it works.

It's technically legal but everyone will hate you and you'll be harassed to no end for it. You might want to keep an eye on your char too btw, some people like to purposely warp/BB/reskill afk players in the name of justice, even though all those behaviors are against the rules.

I see her around a lot. I tend to just ignore it, but if I run around the entire dungeon and not find mobs of decent size, then I just kill her mob since it is holding up spawn. :o Doesn't happen that often though. She's usually AFK, it seems? Even if you killed her mob she won't know.

By the way... she's not AFK'ing there to level. She's farming items like blanks and such.

Hello ~whispers~, how are you?

I've seen you a little amount of times... Not sure if you were afk all the times, but I was afraid to talk to you~/omg

And if I'm sure, the difference between both hats are the rate of auto-casting Greed and the slot on Magnolia.

I'd say it's about as legal as killing the dracula familiar spawn. It's ok if you're actually killing them, but if you're intent is literally for farming purposes then it's a little bit on the side of abusing game mechanics.

I'm all for banning the reflect RG's and afkchemists really.

like RGs using reflect damage
or is it something else and im just missing it

cause i dont see what is wrong with reflect damage

as for the actual thread
how well does it actually work?
im assuming its just to farm blank cards
but the chance of greed doesnt seem high enough to get most cards
i could be wrong though

As much as I understand that you invested zeny and maybe tme getting the right gears, and that your method might be slow to actually accomplish farming items, I don't like the idea of auto-getting some benefit ingame while not being playing. Yus, it is perfectly legal, but I don't like the idea of automatic exp or items without playing. It feels like if suddenly sitting in town gave you free zeny or exp...

Just my personal opinion xP.

I've seen HPs doing that in harpies before, weirded me out at first. Once I realized what she was doing I just made sure to leave her and the mobs on her alone. :o

If its holding up the spawn for long times, just KS it once and move on. Not complicated.

thanks for the screen shot, i've been trying to guess at your armor for a while, looking to get my priest a similar setup. i had actually planned myself to use a puente of the styx in addition to rejuv throrny & bison horn for extra healing since i dont have access to bloody knight or dark lord cards for faster killing.

I have to agree with Kad and Budd.

While I'm not personally going to do anything about it, report, etc., it does seem like if farming an MVP's mob for items is against the rules this method would be as well.

But as I said, don't really care too much. You're not a bot at least, so that's a plus.

I've had great success with this in the past, but found it unreasonably slow for EXP or for farming items. I think I got 0.2% base EXP after leaving my level 80 priest in OD1 for about 11 hours.

I made a few adjustments to the set, and, for anyone who's interested, I found this to be ridiculously successful at Niflheim:

Top headgear: Sheep hat (Something like cubic magnolia if farming items)
Mid Headgear: Rideword Elven Ears (For Priest Set)
Low Headgear: Spare card
Armor: Blessed Holy Robe (Priest Set, 15% demon resistance on Holy Robe)
Shield: Rejuvenating Thorny (Both for heals and for priest set)
Shoes: Doesn't matter. DL shoes would be godly though.
Garment: Immune/DR, will be needed since Niff monsters do moderate damage
Weapon: Grand Cross of the Soul (Autocasts TU on reflect, restores SP on reflect, fur seal for priest set)
Accessory: Bison Horn of Chance (Finishes priest set, set with thorny for reflecting damage)
Accessory: Ring of Resonance (Heal level 10 on Reflect, Assumptio on Reflect, Tarot Card will account for a good amount of damage output)

There's little in the way of damage output, but you'll autocast TU on all the undead enemies, and slowly wear away at the demons with Tarot. I've actually found it impossible to die with this setup with fewer than 20 monsters on you-- Rejuv/RoR just heal too often. It net me about 200k EXP/hour, which is pretty minuscule, but I was fully able to AFK.

An optimization could be to ignore the priest set, card the Grand Cross with a Lady Solace card (for the skill: Grand Cross), and toss on a RoFL to augment the RoR. I tried this as well and found that a mob of monsters died substantially quicker than they would with Magnus Exorcismus. I could solo my priest there for about 1.5M exp/hour, but it wasn't "fully" afk-able. It required attention every 10 minutes to collect a new mob and use a small or medium life-potion (Since without the priest set reduction, the damage slightly exceeded autoheal capabilities. This could possibly be remedied with a GR or DR, which I did not have.)

Hope this helps anyone interested o3o
Some of the gears were difficult to find, though.

Im sure this should be fine as long as it doesnt hinder or hurt anyone elses gameplay. There are quite a few priests i seen like this. Most of which were really friendly. Im sure ive met you at OD few weeks back maybe amonth ago. But all in all. I really dont see anything wrong with it. Anyone smart enough and rich enough to do this, have at it. I will certainly try to get my priest working like this. Yup yup yup.
