the way i feel weapon blocking should work is to just flat out block an attack without interupting whatever it is you're doing, no animation, no delay, nothing. counter slash should work the same way, being a constant active buff you cast after you cast weapon blocking, cancelable by recasting and automatically counters when weapon blocking fires without interuping the current action. it doesnt need any sort of animation or delay, just throw a magnum break type graphics effect over the character and thats enough. in this way, these skills can be used without interupting the CTRL+CLICK on our current target.

Yeah, I think the edp sb nerf was excessive. I guess if Gravity throws the Assassin class a bone, the people who are already enjoying it will enjoy it more.


I think also the crit being based off of defense thing was a bit much as well. But i have to agree that if gravity threw the assassin class a bone people would def start to play it more and also enjoy it more too

Hmmm I got a +9 kvm katar yesterday.

It really fixes the assassin class, the dependance you'd develop on it to be good is actually pretty -_-ty.

Now you could take a look at your former sinx buff accts--married linker and blacksmith--and try replacing them with:

RK - for enchant blade
Sura - for GT Convert
and Sorc - for striking if you're fancy

and now, really no one that you can get a couple uninterrupted seconds attack on is going to live from basic ctrl-click.

but yeah...I don't think GX should be a 9+ kvm katar or go home class.

This is not altogether a bad idea. While I like actually having something to do while CTRL clicking, this would open up the possibility of using multiple kinds of AoEs at a time. Such as using Rolling cutter while having counter slash active. It would offer multiple ways of levelling rather than simply spamming Rolling Cutter or using Counter Slash in between single target attacks.

I'd like to see a revamp of the old skills, and some new ones added considering how many of these add very little or nothing new to the class.

- Make Cloaking Exceed only one level and have it modify the effect of normal cloaking. We do not need two different cloaking skills that have a slight difference of moving speed and a 3 hit allowance. This should have been like a Rogue's Stalk modification to hiding, a passive buff. We now have 3 different hiding skills... a bit much.
- Avail some means of increasing the normal DPS of the class while levelling via a change to EDP. Perhaps the capacity to use it with "black market EDP" that only have a half effect and are sold by an NPC for 5000z each (2x Atk modifier like Maximum Power Thrust, 1.5 on skills). Or simply make EDP more available, it's hardly too overpowered in relation to other classes now.
- Provide new passive skills to buff outdated signature skills of the Assassin, such as a skill that modifies Grimtooth to be used in a larger AoE that does multiple hits instead of making you spam the skill, while still being affected by ASPD.
- Look into streamlining some of these single attack skills. We've got Sonic Blow as melee, Soul Destroyer as ranged and now Cross Impact, a Mid-ranged skill, that beats out both of these skills completely. This wouldn't be such a big deal if there were actually a choice in assassin skills rather than getting these, but there really isn't considering the poison side of the tree is terrible. Its always needed a revamp and never gotten one. Offer something else than these redundant skills or buff the old and remove the new redundant ones like CI.
- Make it so that Weapon Blocking is proc'd by all skills. The addition of Weapon Crush is completely pointless unless weapon blocking is actually proc'd in PvP. This is not a PvM skill.
- Make Hallucination Walk a feasible skill to use. The negative affect is too harsh to consider actually using it in any situation, be that PvP or PvM. Also, the age old complaint comes to mind that there are too many skills that bypass flee that are not even magic, making it far less effective than it should be.

I'm in agreement here, I just level my GX casually now till I 150 my RG cuz it is really tedious to level a GX now. I actually don't mind killing 1 by 1 but a stronger Grimtooth would be nice to bring us on par for leveling sake. With regard to the +9 KvM Katar of go home theory, it is very much true as there is really only 1 other way i can see a GX hitting 193 aspd and that is with base 120 AGI, Drink Poison Bottle, Geneticist aspd Juice, +20 Food, +10 Food, Glorious Ring (or some other aspd equips/card) and Advanced Adrenaline Rush. I believe you can skip 1 of these things, but drinking the Poison Bottle and using Advanced Adrenaline Rush Scroll (which would have to be Kafra item :o ) is absolutely critical. Sadly they are unable to make AAR Scrolls for now.

My point is that we don't necessarily NEED a +9 kvM Katar but at least if we can have some more buffs easier available to us, we can cut the huge NEED for a KvM Katar. It would be nice to have some thief/assassin themed merchant that sold something that gave 30% to 40% more aspd for 10 minutes or so to GX only and that only GX could use. Implementing a new Katar alone would probably still cause people to complain about limitations in how GX is FORCED to use 1 or 2 Katars to compete on a FAIR level. The NPC item could cost a fixed amount of zeny around 30K or so, or it cold have vending type thing where the Piggy bank and stuff could be used.

Just to conclude, I'm not saying to Buff GX directly but rather, at least make something (preferably but not necessarily, exclusive to GX) which can allow GX to experience at least a similar aspd effect of +9 KvM katar on any weapon they use. Even some consumable or something that would make your aspd 191 or so and not stack with anything else.

Lately I have been having problems with WoE targets being super resilient against EDP. I'm trying to figure out what I"m doing wrong still. I have around 187+ ASPD without the katar and I have problems locking down players, or if I do lock them down they don't pot and start laughing? What gives? Anyway, not a 100% win rate but it's still fun. GX do have some buffs incoming. Hall Walk was recently buffed to ignore one CC and we still are getting a buff for Rolling Cutter in the form of damage and AoE range increase. Poison Smoke had its poisoning rate increasd and we keep the weapon poisoned for the entire buff duration. On top of that, things like Guillotine Fist (that completely ignores that 700+ flee you have) is being balanced.

Let me tell you, these TI events are killing me too. Ive yet to get into a party that i didnt create. Not a single person wants a GX

GX dies faster than wanderers in Rachel 5. /omg

...Except for the... Sonic Blow, able to deal over 13k damage in a defenseless [suicidal] wanderer liek me ^_^

Finding a party is already hard, if you are not KSWL/AB/RK/RG/Sura.

Being a DPS class in events which would require AOE onehit strikes instead is very very very hard.

I would love a Tendrilion turnin event, in which the monsters have too much HP that a DPS/Tanker class would be good for something.

Of course, if this event existed, the almighty Suras would suffer, because their Falcon Paunch, I mean, G.Fist would not take over even 10% of this monster's HP.

I just got my character to Guillotine Cross, and I really do like Rolling Cutter (when in a big mob that stops my meteor assault cast)... I'm guessing they didn't care to raise the damage because of how you can spam it without much delay, but when in a party with other third classes... I understand all the complaints in this thread... but if what was said above is true, maybe there's hope yet. = =

I can't tell if your being sarcastic in the beginning of your post. In any case you bring up a reasonable point about a GX's dependancy on Venom Impression for damage. Any GX that doesn't have a +9 KvM weapon is usually forced to use Venom impression to make up for poor damage. However the skill requires you to make use of poison element... which is 100% reduced by poison armor and has no actual weaknesses itself. Not to mention its reduced by 125% on undead and 50% on shadow.

But better yet, because EDP only affects Weapon attack and Equip attack, a GX cannot tell that their EDP damage is being completely negated because they are still doing some minor damage with their status attack that is forced neutral... At least prerenewal one could guess that they were wearing these elements because they constantly missed even with crits. The elemental table for lvl 1 elements really should be looked into cosnidering the change to atk types and how they are affected by element.

Hell, it should be changed period considering its a lvl 1 element completely negating damage of a certain element without any downside or weaked resistance to another.

It's possible for a GX with KvM jamadhar, +7 feather hat, sharp arrow to average crit for more than they'd average double attack.

Crits multiply on whole damage x 1.4, but multiply from maximum regular hit (average +20% weapon atk for lv4 weapon, not including over-refine upgrade bonus)

+%crit damage are also multiplied on whole damage.


So a crit would be average +20% weapon atk, final damage * (1.4) * (1.4)
