This quest can't be started on a Third Class char. The boy won't give the books and I can't find the NPC in the Library to buy the books from.

Has this issue seriously been undetected for this long?

Are we sure that this isn't a case of an issue introduced by the recent changes to the npc's that "jump out at you"?

Funny story i had this same problem on my Genetic. I had started the quest but lost the book to give to the NPC in morroc. If you have NOT given the stacked books from the boy npc, to the scholar npc in juno you can supposedly buy it from the library in pront. But if you lost the book the juno NPC gave you, you need GM help to get it back so you can continue it.

I ran by it on one of my thirds and it did do the colliding animation but the text box didn't pop up and i did not get the books. This worked out good for me though as i didn't want to do the quest.

I was able to activate the NPC on a pre trans sin, but the book is char bound. T_T I wanna finish this quest so I can do the NI quest and complete this ridiculous chain.

the boy NPC doesnt jump at you though, the Nameless Island quest npc called "agent" on the air ship does pop up at you.

Heim can you fix these NPCs during tomorrow's maint please? Can't enter Nameless Island without these quests.

the boy NPC doesnt jump at you though, the Nameless Island quest npc called "agent" on the air ship does pop up at you.

"jump out at you" as in starting a conversation with you without you talking to them, so you can get DC'ed if you walk by them. The boy used to do that, it was incredibly annoying.

Can't they change the mode of the NPC for it to not dialogue popup?

Yeah, and they're changing a lot of NPCs to work like that - my thought was that an attempt to do this might have accidentally broken the npc in general. But it sounds like that's not the case, since it still works for some classes.

Yeah my pre trans sin was able to activate it. The only people that can't activate it if they still need to are third class. =/

Send in a ticket and they can fix it for you.. I had the same issue with 4 of my characters and after about 6 days i got a update on my ticket and my characters were able to talk to the little boy and start the quest...

Started and completed this quest 2 hours ago on 115 Ranger Valk Server.

Suggestions: Close all of your clients and reopen, then walk close to the npc within 1 cell and click on him.

I am also having a similar problem on my archbishop. When I run into the busy boy npc I don't get a chat/text pop up but only a mere colliding animation. When I try talking to him he doesn't give me any options to choose from. I have never started the quest before, this is my first time doing it. Also, I have done all the other prerequisite quests for the nameless island quest, this is the last one that I need. Please fix this asap!
