How do you level early as sura, assuming you don't have the resources to BB level? (this is for a friend of mine, obviously - he's not comfortable on forums, and i don't know jack about pvm on sura, and all the people I know who have suras BB leveled until job 3x, when they had Rising Dragon 10).

How many jobs do you need in order to start soloing as sura? How do you go about it?

Thanks!

I prefered the Sky Blow build above anything else when I started out, but if its a WoE type build go with LR and energy gain as a starter. It takes around 5-10 job levels to start leveling efficiently, but even so its quite slow. I started on the Kobold map and moved my way up to Nogg road 2, at around 113-115 I jumped to rachel sanctuary when there was a 3x spawn and got to around 130 or so. Once you have the ability to go Rampage blast with lvl 10 Rising dragon you could switch it up to that. Without the 3x spawn at rachel sanctuary...im not sure as to where i would go.

Are you saying to get rampage blast 5? That's not the build he was planning for; This is the build he was planning on; I suspect with a reset planned to optimize skills for woe after 150. http://irowiki.org/~...pl2dDGFldqofUcY

That is a good build for leveling yes. I have the same build but my RB is 5, the main reason being to 1 shot with endow. Leveling depends on gears. Assuming he has 2 hunterfly carga RWH Nyd and a proper racial shield he could easily level to the 130s after which he could use KA and change to level on Kasas as its Mvp property which makes him 2 hit with the bonus always.

If your friend has megs then its a different story altogether Magma AL2 AL3/Bios would be the way. If not then Desert wolves-> magma -> Rachel/ Nameless-> Kasas -> Bio/ AL3 [This is how I am planning to level currently 131 level]

About the skills, your friend can go for PP revit and get cc 3 and rb 5 instead of LR 5 later on if he plans to woe .

Can you describe _how_ and _with what skills_ he should level from 100 to 130's on those maps? I have no clue what skills to tell him to get first for leveling. Let us assume he has the basic set of gear you described, but no megs.

Megs!!! lol no I don't even dream about using them. Ok So assuming he has the set of gears as you would expect from an average sura, from 110 he could level on wolves/magma dun the skills needed would be pp energy gain 3 and windmill.
At level 115 move to Magma/Rachel Sanc. All you need to do now is to LR mob windmill get back spheres LR rinse and repeat with a nyd Variant Rwh combo he shud never run out of sp and with a 2 hunterfly carga hp wouldnt be a problem. If he is not able to do it efficiently then he needs to practice. The reason why I say lvl 115 is because the base damage of LR increases with base levels so you have a chance of killing mobs in 2 lrs- 3 lrs depending on the place you are in provided he is increasing his str and dex till 90 atleast.

Early 120s move to Juperos/Nameless get aspersio and get vit coz its time to mob even harder !!! you will have RD 10 use that to level power absorb when u have low sp and LR till you kill the mobs windmill if they gang on you.Its basically snapping around getting mobs lr windmill lr.Windmill is to stun the mobs (it also does damage which counts to get your spheres back with energy gain 3). This is where the zen nerf hit me hard. With rising dragon up you would need to zen after every mob and you will get used to clicking the hotkey that it becomes habitual for you to zen and then power absorb to get your sp to full(this was not made possible with that nerf hence the suras who leveled this way like me were pissed). Do it this way and you will reach 130 pretty soon. If you are 127-128 range and need more challenge go to al2 or bio labs with a priest.

After 130 (though you havent asked me ) you can get KA and go Kasas with endow. That would help you till 140 after which AL3 / BIOLAbs would be your home.

The order to get the skills would be

LR 5->PP energy gain 3->windmill 1-> Rising dragon 8->Stop by for power absorb since you get more spheres from Rising Dragons which you definitely need to use-> Rising Dragon 10-> RB 3~5 and then rest of the skills he will figure out by his own when he reaches 135+.

All the above information was got by myself by trying out builds /looking at KRO videos/ posts from irowiki and few people from different guilds that helped me in game on Valkyrie so yea it works and I have leveled the hard way w/o turn-in events atleast till now.

Which mobbing skill is affected the most &/or at all by Rising Dragon?

Lightning Ride - Seems even if you had the 15 spheres that it would only use 5. But also able to recast rapidly with only a 1s delay. Also can use it at a distance. Is the damage affected by element other than Wind??? I know you get a bonus with Wind but vs other wind guys this would seem to be a disadvantage.

Rampage Blaster - Also does using Rising Dragon auto Fury you? Or do you need to RD then Fury? Seems to say it would do 15 * 200% damage per sphere in Fury state for a sweet 3k% damage with a self 7x7 aoe and 10 second cast delay (major lame). Is the damage affected by element???

Both have positive and negative affects it seems.

When you use RisingDragon, I think you're in Fury right away.

Rising dragon gives you spheres and puts you in fury state . The more spheres you have , the more damage you will deal with Rampage blaster. Rampage blaster can be also endowed and I do 28k~30k minimum damage to Bio monsters on striking , and 30k to dragons using Cursed Water at level 5. Yes it is one very powerful skill but there is another powerful skill which surpasses this one and is not tried by many suras. You will figure out what I am talking about when you get to 140.

Is it wise to level up using Rampage blaster and Sky Blow? Use rampage blaster to hurt them and sky blow to finish them off?

Rampage Blaster uses a lot of SP though. And with only 5 Spheres, the dmg isn't that high, Riding Lightning is a better choice to me.

You are right it does use up a lot of SP. 150 to be exact. Thanks for letting me know. Any recommendation as to which Wind weapon is best for LR?
